First thing I like about the Pioneer is the USB slot.
First thing I like about the Kenwood is the larger screen.

Second thing I like about the Pioneer is the price of the 700BT vs the Kenwood 5120
Second thing I like about the Kenwood is .... I can't find one.

Also, if you are willing to spend $500+ for the Kenwood I'd suggest getting the Pioneer 900BT -they can snagged on ebay (NEW) for within $25 of the Kenwood 5120 and the 900BT has a LOT more features.

i have several pioneer single din units and i will tell you this the 3 band parametric Eq is much better then alot of higher priced models available it is very customizable also my pioneer in my truck is going on 5 years old or so and i have used the crap out of it and it still works perfect

I love my 700bt. I do not know much about the Kenwood.

I've always bought Pioneer decks when I upgrade. I've never owned a Kenwood, but I hear they're good. My personal preference still says Pioneer.

I prefer pioneer, if you are gonna get the pioneer get the 900bt, the 700bt does not play dvd. I have owned maybe 6 pioneer head units and only had problems with one but i love the parametrice eq.
