2 problems with 94 bonneville

Problem 1--Ive got another problem with my 94 Bonneville. sometimes when i start it ill turn the key and i hear a pop then it doesnt start and it smells like something is burning then i try to start it again and it starts fine any ideas of whats wrong??

problem 2-- check engine light comes on sometimes when it is on it feels like the car has no power even when i put the gas peddle to the floor the car will speed up but it goes really slow kind like there is no gas it sputters and bucks. it runs fine when no engine light. any ideas??

I'd suggest getting the car scanned to find out what code it is setting. Would make things a lot easier to diagnose.
