obd1 obd2

Post by canuckhead »

On my 94 Bonneville i have a obd2 connector but the tag on my car says obd1 certified. I have tried an obd2 code reader on my car but it does not work. just wondering if anyone knows why i have an obd2 connector instead of an obd1??

94 and 95 vehicles were like this. they used an obd-1 system with an obd-II connector. A sort of transition year. You need a scanner with OBD-I software, and OBD-II cable (actron cp9145, and a couple others i can't think of)
