17" 10 Spoke GP Alloys...

Post by captainmiller »

I'm not sure how you guys feel about black wheels here but I just got my summer tires back from a local shop. This is what I had them do - I think it turned out very well. It should look really sharp with the chrome lugs holding them on, and the rotor and red caliper behind.

I can't wait to put them on!!

I wanted to powdercoat (for the durability thing) but they are painted. There are no places around here that powdercoat car wheels. If you want it done, you have to dismount the rubber, prep the wheel, and bring them in yourself to places that just do industrial powdercoating. The place I had this done at does the whole thing - they dismounted them, cleaned up the corrosion that was on the wheels, machined the silver lip, painted them, and remounted and balanced the tires. The owner told me that durability shouldn't be an issue driving around the city, and I barely do any back road driving so I should be alright.

They got them done super fast, and did a wonderful job. Anyone who lives around Winnipeg should talk to them if you need something done with your wheels - Place is called Ultimate Wheel Works. They did everything for $250.00 CDN.

I think they're going to look very nice! What about some clear coat for added durability?

Can't wait to see them on!

Interesting!

Throw em on the car, I'm interested as well as my GTP has the same rims, but...in my case the car is already silver :)

On that note, how's the GP been treating you?

Thanks for all the positive comments. I can't wait to get them on - still a lot of snow here though and I don't want to jump the gun and put them on too early. I've also tinted the windows down to 20% since my sig picture and the car looks badass. This is going to top it off nicely.

The GP is treating me well - I didn't have a single problem all winter, and it has been a harsh one. With the winter tires on there it handles deep snow and ice like a champion as well. I'm so tired of seeing it so dirty, but there isn't much you can do, espcially as it warms up. I am literally counting the days until it is nice enough out to do a photoshoot with the wheels. I am planning on re-installing my deck & sub as it gets nicer out...I'm just waiting for the custom mounting kit to come in the mail. I thought the modding would stop...how wrong was I.

On a side note my Bonne is still sitting behind the stealership I sold it to with 5 feet of snow on it. They removed the Bonne Club decals as well, I wonder what they are doing with it....

It's there, they used stick on, it's on the inside, you can see it on the one that's laying on the right.

Ohh, I wish my tire places would use them on the inside.. they just destroyed my rims.

But back to topic, those look pretty sweet.
