Usually I'm always working on someone elses car but this weekend everything else will be pushed off to the side.

I got a smoking deal on some parts a few weeks ago and they have been just sitting in the garage waiting for me to finish up on other people's stuff.

The plan is to start Friday night:
- I need to tear down the top of the motor, LIM on up.
- Modify my intercooler so I will get the full flow from my new blower.
- Port & polish the LIM intake runners and cut open the hole for my intercooler flow.
- Polish the intake of my blower and cut down the wall for more IC air flow.
- Clean up re-use bolts and get everything ready to install.
While the top of the motor is apart and access is good:
- Install my electric engine coolant water pump.
- Istall my race down-pipe.
Back on task...
- Start bolting stuff together.
- Tune it by Friday 3/6/2009 and go to Firebird. AZClbGP club track day.. go for 11's.

I know you've done this before (a couple times) on a Gen3. Let me know what you think of the GenV alloy. It's quite different. I noticed it mostly when I was smoothing the inlet with a flap sander.

I also noticed when doing SilverBullet's, that the TB adapter could have been a tapered ID, as the hole was the same as the TB, but not the inlet. I smoothed that a bit for the transition. Not really sure if it was needed, but it certainly didn't hurt it.

I noticed it was quite a bit easier to work with when I did mine. Seemed easier to machine out the H-bar too for the intercooler.

Easier to machine, yes. But not to sand. Big difference. Totally different alloy. When machining it, the mill won't 'load up' with slag. But when sanding, it's very resistant. Polishing too. I've done two GenV's now, and both were the same.

My progress is pretty likely to slow a little.
The local GM dealers don't have sc gaskets so I'll have to make them, I don't mind but the work is slower.
I have a bit of stomach flu, I'm not feeling to well so I'm moving kind of slow too.
I've been fighting it all week because my wife was down hard far a ew days sicker then a dog. The kids just bounce back like a super ball, its not fair, when there sick is the few hours of continious quite time we ever see.
Anyway, coffees ready, need to get moving.

not for the gen v the gen 3 sure but the gen v gaskets are an aluminum construction so that is why

GenV gaskets are not aluminum, but they are different in shape than the Gen3. I've installed two GenV's here. Both were paper.

Thomas will be likely using TWO gaskets, both modified, or one modified gasket, and some sealer in his 'stack'.

I had to modify my stock SC gasket for my intercooler as well.

Actually, the stupid GM dealer couldn't find the parts I ordered when i went in to pick them up this morning. The guy that placed the order has Saturdays off and the Bozos beind the counter couldn't find them.
That's ok, I still have plenty of prep work to keep me busy.

So Bob helped me clean the garage, I got the car washed and in the garage.. I guess I could take a picture of that.

Then we fixed Ben's exhaust, you know Ben = Big_news_1, he had a broken hanger, it tore off the side of the pipe at the weld so we made a patch for the pipe and welded that sucka back on, its all good now.

go to the local dealer and ask for a 2006 grand prix gt supercharger gasket and the will ask you did you mean aluminum one or the old one it was revised. why not call todd allen at intense and ask him or pm him he will give you a correct answer. good luck on the build

I'm going to make a blower gasket, I don't need that aluminum gasket mated to my IC core.
I'm actually going to mate the gasket to my IC core and open the PCV hole, BB and EGR. although I don't have an EGR, I will make it available if needed.
Coolant holes will remain closed off.

Yeah Thomas, They are definately metal with the O-ring attached to them. I used two of them for each side of the intercooler and I took the O-rings out of the top one since they weren't needed through the intercooler. My IC core is made for the Gen V already. I have a picture here somewhere, let me see..........This is the best one that I have. Just the top one, Guess I don't have the bottom, but it is the same. The very front of the gasket has a different coloring on it due to some special modification that I had to do to it for my PCV function on this core is all.
