1999 Se jumped -will not go into park-got it corrected

Post by thomjohn »

I took the dash out of the 1999 SE to change out the heater core.
The car jumped out of park when the steering wheel was dropped down
to help remove parts. Something that is made out of pot metal with
threads inside was laying on floorboard (only about half of it) and
would be about the size of a quarter.

Also when the battery was reconnected after reinstall of dash-no lights
or anything from the battery. Is this due to the jumping out of park and
possibly the auto-park cable came loose. Does anyone have a schematic
for the inside of the steering column?
