2000 Bonneville ssei wheels

Post by bigbigbrig »

This is my first post so hello to my fello bonneville owners.

I have a 2000 bonneville ssei with 17" wheels.
For the winter I was wondering if 16" wheels would fit without rubbing anything?
Also if they will fit what size tires do you reccomend mounting on them?

Thanks in advance.

Most 16's will fit. The one thing that may affect it is if you do a brake job, the caliper may not clear the spokes. Most 90's GM wheels that are the 5x115mm lug pattern should fit.

Theyll fit. Get 225/60-16. About the cheapest size and the narrower size will aid in snow traction.

Welcome by the way.

If you are looking at using factory GM wheels, as stated above they will fit as long as they are 5x115. They very likely though will not clear the caliper on the back side of the wheel if you put on new pads and rotors.

Here is my '03 SSEi with factory 16" wheels from my old '93 SSEi. They fit just fine until I put new pads and rotors on then they rubbed and I had to clearance the caliper just a little bit.
