| Post subject: | Replacing Blower Control Module 1999 SSEI |
Greetings to the all-knowing forum! trying to replace my faulty Blower Control Module with a new one. I can not clear the way to get the old one out, there is a gas line and other lines that blocks the way. I can pull the old "Blower Control Module" about 2 inches and can not twist it to clear the lines. Any ideas how to get the old module out? I am so close, but hate to screw up something else Help!!! Thank you |

My guess is you're being to gentle. Try using one one hand to move all the lines out of the way & lift it out with the other. |

You are correct  I did and got it replaced, I always worry about gas lines.It did not correct the problem I have though, fan still did not come on. Could it be the motor? Thanks Bill |

Thanks Bill It certainly could be the motor. You might want to check the fuse, relay, connectors first. IIRC the fuse is a 40 in the Maxi-fuse box, right above the BCM, with the relay below it. Both blowers which I have replaced went the same way, you might want to try a 2 minute test. Open the hood and start the car, turn on the blower. Get out and give the fan motor a rap or three. If it comes on, you can use that technique for cold weather until you replace the blower. Which you will have to do. BTW, if you tap the plastic cover on the fan, there is a 70/30 chance it will crumble. You might want to take the plastic cover off before tapping the fan motor. It'll be a 15 minute test then.

You can test the blower by connecting it directly to the battery. Positive to the terminal that the purple wire goes to, negative to the black wire terminal. |

Can also make sure it's not the wiring by using a test light or multimeter on the plug, to see if there's power when turned on. |
