Depends a lot on the quality you want and where you live. You can go online and find "detailers" that will do a hack job for $30 or so, and you can also call around to pro shops and pay over $200. If you are really into absolute perfection, you can find detailers that will flat out blow your mind with their work, interior and exterior, for $500 +

I usually run around $250 - $300 for a daily driver that is not terrible if they want the best I can do, much too cold to do any detailing work in Michigan though this time of year

I say learn to do it yourself. Most of it is just interior cleaning, a good wash and claybar and waxing, and the underhood work you can do with Simple Green, a parts cleaning brush, and a bottle of engine detailer.

well what about having my engine compartment cleaned? its dosent look awful but i tried some of this spray specifically designed for engine and engine compartment cleaner but to no avail, would a detailer shop make my engine and engine compartment sparkle?

Spray on simplegreen, scrub with parts cleaning brush. Rinse with low-pressure water. (Avoid electronics.) Air dry or take a short drive to warm things up. Spray or wipe down with Armor All or whatever your favorite engine detailer is. (Keep away from belts.) It will look better than a detailer and cost you a fraction of the price. This is one of the easiest things you can do.

I would also recommend using Microfiber gloves. Just put on a set of latex gloves first. Makes it real easy to get all the hard spots including the underside of engine components.
