Well Lane won't be able to see this....

But here is her official thread. No name yet. It's a one owner, 2000 S2000, Silverstone Metallic on red and black interior, with 51k miles. I finally got to drive it more since buying it nearly 3 weeks ago. It is such a joy to drive.

Has a few small issues. The top is new, but the hardware wasn't replaced, so it's noisy at speed. Needs to be cleaned up from the dealer putting that awful greasy shiny *shoot* on the interior. But overall, I can't wait to work on it and get it perfect. It nearly is anyways!

Looks clean, hopefully the underside is just as pristine. Probably a drivers race against a 3.4 pulley W-body? I do like convertibles. Kinda wish I'd had one instead of my T-Top car sometimes.

Every time I think about a Honda S2000 I think of The Fast and the Furious and Johnny Tran. lol. I know, I'm a jerk.

I wish I had pics of the underside. It is completely pristine!

Not sure what 3.4 cars run but apparently this thing is good for very high 13s/low 14s out of the box. It's certainly not slow but to call it fast would be a stretch. It's all about how it feels to drive. The shifting feel is amazing and the steering is point and shoot. If I do end up bringing it to Michigan you're welcome to give it a go.

And yeah... Too soon junior! lol I like how that S2000 apparently had $100k in the motor or something lmfao Sounded like *shoot* too. No exhaust is best exhaust.

I always thought the S2000 was cool and a pure sports car. I recall reading the engine was strong but it required you to really zing it to make the power. I remember one auto journalist wrote the car was fast if you drove it like you were mad as hell. LOL

Looking forward to the updates.

Oh yeah, definitely no real power to speak of below 6,000 RPM. But wringing its neck is part of the fun, and it sound absolutely amazing when it's singing near its 9,000 RPM red line. 60 MPH comes up quick, revving it out is addicting and will quickly have you going way faster than the posted speed limit.

Changed the oil, air filter, clutch fluid, trans fluid, diff fluid, and cabin air filter today.

Bleeding the clutch and changing the transmission fluid made such an amazing difference in the shift quality. Love doing little maintenance items that make it drive better!

Still need to do the coolant and brake fluid at some point. Everything appears to be pretty much original. Will probably do the spark plugs soon at the same time.

Please... For the love of God, PLEASE, do not install a sewer pipe exhaust on the back of yours like every "Johnny Tran" here in the western suburbs. PLEASE!! It sounds like CRAP, especially at 6 trillion RPM you need to wind it up to, to get any power out of it, as you're racing up and down Randall Rd., trying to pick fights with cars whose starters have more power/torque than your <racekar>.

Nope. It's staying 100% stock! :P

No need to get your panties in a twist. With all your torque! [-X

I wring them out from all of it. It seems aver hammerhead with one going up/down Randall has this huge Folgers coffee can.

Just like the 3800, these cars sound best with the exhaust or the UK mod which is a very tiny modification to the stock system.

It's all about the intake sound with these babies.

I love intake noise! Biggest thing I miss on the 2.0 EcoBoost Escape and part of why I hesitate to go the supercharger route on the GP. A 4 cyl can sound great with the right components getting the air in and out.

My Escape just turned over 40k...lowest mileage car I've owned in almost 20 years! LOL

There you go! I remember when Penny was still in the 40k range and now she's over 170k. Time and miles do fly!

I don't know what this thing's future is yet or how long I'll have it, but thanks to the weather and lots of time at work I haven't put very many miles on it since getting it.

I'm with you on that one! I never put a lot of miles on any ragtop I ever owned. My Chrysler 200 had 41k when I bought it and 4 years later only had 55k...which included a couple road trips (one to Daytona, FL) Gypsy had 69k (close to 70) and now only has 71k but at least thats been since Thanksgiving. You get a lot tougher winter up your way than down here for sure, but that was always my goal with any convertible I owned...keep it out of the frozen stuff. Freezing anything and direct heavy sun are the biggest enemy of the ragtop.

Exactly! The soft top is new on this one, I've been meaning to get some conditioner for it.

Officially crossed 60k in this thing the other day. What an awesome almost 10k mile experience I've had so far. And I haven't even taken it on the track or AutoX yet! Had to replace the clutch along the way, a broken spring retainer killed it. Very satisfied that I was able to do it myself with the help of a friend and his lift. Lol

Other than that, some maintenance here and there and lots of smiles per gallon... Although I've yet to get under 20MPG from her since purchase. Super happy we have such a mild winter and I can still drive it without any salt. I couldn't bear to put it away.

At 60k it's barely broken in. Cool the clutch job was easy. I love working on manual trans cars..

Nice Beemer too.

Inspired by 95Nasta's updates on his none-Bonne vehicles, here is mine!

A lot of new adventures for me this year in the S2000. First autocross. First track outing. Been daily driving it and miles have crept up the 67k. Have put on over 15k since I got in February of last year.

Got some new wheels and rubber for it, 17X9 with Hankook RS4s. The difference over stock is astonishing.
Stiffer front sway bar.
Stainless steel brake lines, DOT4, and new brake rotors and pads all around.
Did the valve retainers as they can crack with a mechanical over rev. Luckily none of mine were. I didn't expect them to be, given the previous old man owner, but it's cheap insurance. Especially since the F20 motors are stupid expensive.

Driving on the race track is so much *dang* fun. I can't wait to do it again, probably in October. I was at Gingerman Raceway in Michigan.
