Re: 2000 SSEi Roof Leaks
Maybe your drain tubes from the sunroof became disconnected. There is a drain tube connection under the plastic trim panel on the windshield A pillar. The trim panel is easy to pull off without tools. You can do a visual inspection of the tube there. Or perhaps the drain tube is disconnected right ...

Re: 2000 front seat, console, carpet removal
Hi Andrew,
Thanks for the detailed reply. It's not what I had imagined.
On the rear drain tubes, there is a grommet of approximately 1 inch diameter in a hole passing through the sheet metal behind the rear fender well. On the inside of the grommet is molded the short piece of connecting tube ...

Re: How to add OEM CD Changer to Factory XM
Hi Pete
Well I'm at a loss. As you know I am doing this on an 02 SSEi and was at the last step. I finally located the elusive three pins needed to fit into the DNL connector. I made up my wiring harness, and had made all the connections to the power supply and serial data, and then ran my cable up ...

Tell us more about the right o-rings. I plan to replace my filter in the near future and would appreciate the benefit of your experience.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: How do I install a OEM 12 disc changer in my 02 SSEi?
I checked out the connector you mentioned. I have an OEM pigtail on the CDX I purchased and the connector shown in the pictures as PT108 is not the same.
I also noted that different sites described the PT108 as a radio connector, while other sites listed it as a blower motor connector. Whatever it ...

Re: How do I install a OEM 12 disc changer in my 02 SSEi?
I put in a request on one of those partsfinder websites. I got back a half dozen replies. I posted one yard that has the CDX and related parts for sale earlier in this forum. It was a good price and included the pigtail. You might want to contact them as I imagine it is still available. I suggest ...

Well, it sounded real good for a moment. Thanks for the research on why you already have the pins. That's good intel. So... I'm back to the idea of using the trailer wiring harness connector through a hole in the receiver. You may be faced with the same thing. Just open the case of the CDX, solder ...

Re: How do I install a OEM 12 disc changer in my 02 SSEi?
Wow, that's something. I haven't pulled my receiver head, I just assumed the pins were missing. So, that indeed is my next step depending upon what you find with your harness sleuthing. Thanks for the tip. Let us know where the harness dead ends. This might be a simpler install than I imagined. If ...

Re: How do I install a OEM 12 disc changer in my 02 SSEi?
No, I haven't had any reply to my posts as of yet. It seems like this part is not commonly salvaged. Generally they send the car to the crusher with the wire harness still intact. It's just too small to attract any salvage attention.

I put a post onto the Parts Wanted forum. Hopefully someone will have a donor car they are willing to cannibalize.
And, yes, I will definitely send the wealth on if I am lucky enough to get a pig tail to salvage from.

Re: How do I install a OEM 12 disc changer in my 02 SSEi?
Hi Andrew.
The Bonneville radio is equipped with a "Dock n Lock" connector. The male end of the connector is attached to the IP wiring harness, and it plugs into the female end that is guilt into the back side of the receiver. There are about 12 slots on the top of the connector and a like number ...

Re: How do I install a OEM 12 disc changer in my 02 SSEi?
I spent all summer in Detroit so I ravaged the wrecking yards there for a suitable car. Turns out that wrecking yards only keep older cars in their yards - the theory being that only owners of older cars will come out and self-salvage miscellaneous parts off the carcasses. Newer cars are stripped of ...

Thanks for the ideas and schematics. I have some next steps now, and I'll check them out as soon as it stops raining.
My next actions: Check if brake lights work. If they don't either, then likely cause is splice at S408 (on the black wire) which is under the tape in the wiring that passes through ...

Tail Light Problem on 03 SSEi - no electricity to outer bulb
My 02 tail light won't illuminate on the passenger side outer bulb only. Both bulbs are lit on the driver side, and the inner bulb is lit on the passenger side when I switch on the headlights or when I click the remote.
I replaced the outer bulb but that was not the problem.
I checked the circuit ...

Re: Tires for Florida driving
I have a 2002 SSEi and had real bad luck with the factory Goodyears. They never held their round, and I was force balancing them every 4 -6 months. Luckily they're long gone.
I switched out to Kuhmos at 35 K after my son drove a timber through one of the Goodyears. (I got a free detail/polish job ...

Re: How do I install a OEM 12 disc changer in my 02 SSEi?
Does this mean I can splice in somewhere other than the head unit connector? Is there a convenient place where I can make a direct splice to connect my CDX player? (in case I just can't find those copper terminals anywhere)

To keep you posted on progress.
I found a correct bracket CD player from an 01 Bonne, complete with the CDX connector pigtail.
I found a different yard that had a soft trim pad and the mounting bolts and studs.
Now, I am looking for the three copper terminals to add to my head unit connector, so ...
