Yes. The Bose systems had a separate amp. It sounds like you simply blew your speakers. See if you can find or locate some to swap in to test.
Thanks. That explains some things. Actually the front right speakers come on occasionally. When I trace the wires, I'll be looking for that 2nd amp first ...

Re: Front speakers in Bose system
Has anybody worked with a Bose System? Is there an amp separate from the head unit?

Front speakers in Bose system
In my '98, the the front speakers on my Bose system have gone dead. First the left, then the right a couple of days later. At first, I thought I just had a bad speaker/lead problem with one side down, but then the other side went.

Klean-Strip Aircraft Paint Remover
There are other "Aircraft" removers, but this is the one that I used to strip some crosslace ghetto golds down to metal. Great stuff. It stripped off the factory coating in one big pass, then a touch up pass.
It only has a minimum of 60% methylene chloride ...

If you paid for the scan, it's has no value if they don't tell you what is wrong with the car. You're not taking a car to a mechanic to get an error code. You're going there for a diagnosis of the problem. With all due respect, is what I told you do months ago. So that any time directed at problem ...

Re: Anti lock ABS warning light and problem with ABS
Thanks CharlieMax,
Do you mean the WSS actually is the thing to where the connector plugs into?
So the wire that comes from the hub is just to send the signal? And the WSS then analyses it and transfers via the connector to the wiring?
I would be very interested to see how could I replace WSS ...

Here is an update for the rear WSS test:
RL: Idle Ohm: 0; Ignition On VDC output at connector: 5.58 to 5.64; RPM Drill Brush Test Ohm: 0; RPM VAC: 0.3 (this time my other voltmeter did not have very sensitive range for less then 1VAC thus this value is not very certain).

My thing is this... The courtesy lights are all on a constant hot circuit, they are supplied with power all of the time, that way you flip a switch and poof lights... He could also have a ground issue so I would also agree with checking the ground buss bars on both sides of the car....

Yeah I'm with Don, there's a fuse out somewhere or other reason..I'm betting an overlooked fuse. The labeling is kinda crappy IMO at times...you think you know which one it is but then read another and go "OHHH, it's that one" Look through again. Not saying that it HAS to be a fuse.

Pull it out and look at the wires...
Those Twilight sensors in '95s are a pita. Must have replaced it once a year, including with '96-'99 units. Finally replaced the entire wire harness with heavier gauge wires, so they wouldn't cook the switch.

Rather strange, I know I've had Advance scan my car for me before. I do it at my shop normally though, he has a $10k SnapOn that does it all. You may want to call around, scanning should be free, not pay-for...someone is just trying to take advantage of you due to your situation and that's just not ...

Check it out, maybe it has changed. That works with virtually no GM cars before 2000.00Beast wrote:http://www.amazon.com/Actron-CP9449-BrakeScan-System-Diagnostic/dp/B000YJ053O/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1327691364&sr=8-5

Re: Anti lock ABS warning light and problem with ABS
I'm sorry, I don't have the time to write it all up right now. I'm almost positive the test procedure is here somewhere. try a search on "WSS test" in this section.
The test is to get an in-bounds and steady read off of the WSS circuit. All you need is a $20 electric multi-meter (aka DVOM). Reading ...

In noticed laimisl is in Eastern Canada as I am and can tell you that the dealer will charge a minimum of $95.00 + tax to scan the ABS codes with a tech 11 scanner so I understand the hesitance in going to the dealer. Re: Anti lock ABS warning light and problem with ABS
I have an OBDII scanner. My dog has an OBDII scanner. Seriously, unless it's one of the $2K pro models or black market), it is not likely going to have the ABS codes. GM has never made them available except under individual-seat licensing. (so that we have to go to the dealer and fork over some ...

Re: Anti lock ABS warning light and problem with ABS
Did you just clean the WSSs, or did you test them? There's a sneaky way to test the WSSs with a simple electrical meter. The process used to be here, maybe it's at the other place. You can have a perfectly clean WSS which has been burned-out.

Re: Car Stuck In Park
Happened a lot with my wife's '96. To reload the release, the shifter button has to come all of the way out of the shifter knob. It wasn't. It was stuck, probably against the leather hood on the shifter knob.. Next time just reach around with your left thumb and forefinger, and pull the top part of ...

Check for spark & fuel injector pulse.
If you have both then try unplugging the maf sensor. If it still doesn't start then try unplugging the cam sensor.
If you don't have spark or pulse then check all the fuses.

Could be a crank sensor?
Yeah, the cam sensor, crank sensor, or ICM. I have replaced all of those on one car or another, but they always showed themselves while running, with an error code. I don't know how to check them, while it's sitting, besides making sure a millivolt will travel through ...

Re: Cranks great, but won't kick over.
If the starter is cranking, but the engine isn't turning over, thats a broken flywheel.
But if by "engine won't turn over" you mean that it just doesn't start, thats a different issue.
Does the crank pulley spin when you try to start it?
