Yes , there was a service bulletin on it. Im not sure if your car still qualifies, but it is worth checking out.

Re: O2 sensor code P0136
Also contact your nearest dealer. Mine tripped a code related to the exhaust. Can't remember the code, but they replaced the entire exhaust from the collector back. $1200 exhaust for free.

Re: How to paint GXP calipers?
At 200-250 degrees you are ok. Powdercoat ovens bake at 350-450. I painted mine with VhT hi temp paint. Never used Duplicolor so have no opinion. I don't really drive my GXP much. It is mostly for the occassional drive to work and car shows.

Re: How to paint GXP calipers?
Go to the GXP section. I did a write up with pics how to paint GXP calipers up. The calipers are not that expensive. To be honest I wouldn't even screw with used calipers. Use them as cores and buy new ones. From there clean the crap out of them and use scotch bright pad on them so the paint and ...

Look under the GXP section and topic is Powdercoat Calipers. Gives a write up and pics.

Re: Need new brakes, what brand?
I used Autosports rotors, ebc red stuff pads, and painted up a new set of calipers. Look awesome and work great. Don't waste your money on Brembos. Not even sure you can get Brembos or baer kits for these cars.

Re: Wheel Cleaners, what do you use?
Depends on the wheel type. For painted wheels like on a GXP I use Simple Green or plain old car wash soap. Then hand wax them to repell dust. Simple Green is balanced and safe for the clearcoat. I run ceramic pads as well so dust isnt much of an issue.

Re: Would you recommend the GXP?
I would buy one. I love mine, but agree look for low miles. I would also take the VIN to a Buick/former Pontiac dealer to see if there is a maintainence report on the car. If not, have your mechanic check it out and get it up on a lift.

The body shop I went to charged me 25 per light, but I was getting some other work done hence the deal. 50-75 per light is a reasonable price.

Re: VHT Nite Shade
The easier and best way to do this is take the lights to a body shop and have them spray them with clearcoat with some black paint dropped in. It looks factory and last as long as your paint.
Had it done to mine two years ago and looks like new still. Not much reduction in light either.

Go to California Car Cover. They'll make mats that fit the GXP anyway you want.

For 15 bucks it's worth it. I found mine missing as well and put one in just to be safe.

Re: World's Best GXP?
Again, I am going to disagree. Spend sometime watching and going to auctions. The exact words coming out of your mouth have been said for decades. People said corvairs, beetles, lincoln town cars, marauders, galaxies, Chevy 150 and 250s were never going to be worth anything and were junked These ...

Sorry dude, but you are wrong! Maybe you are just too young but Bonneville started life with a v8 so the fact that a six ever was put in it was wrong.
Maybe the GXP made things right.

Re: World's Best GXP?
What amazes me is how many people diss these cars they bitch and say they wont be worth anything. But yet they are still on here long after they sold them.
Look. If you think these cars wont be worth anything 10 years from now you are high! Simple law of supply and demand. Not many made there will ...

Sseiman,
Yes lower number. If memory serves they only made like 1800 or so G8 Gxps. Hold on to it. Probably wont see them depreciate much.
