Re: How to distinguish a Series II vs. Series III motor

Yes, I cut open the LIM on the series II to match the Gen V blower and yes, I screwed up the terminology. I installed the gasket off the 04 GTP to match the Gen V.

Those are two very distinctive markings that will definitely help! Just want to make sure the guy shipping the motor doesn't screw me ...

Re: How to distinguish a Series II vs. Series III motor

Thanks!!
I'm guessing it won't hurt to have a bigger opening on the LIM than the UIM, right?
Should I get a L32 gasket or stick with the Gen V gasket I have now on my series II?
Are there any numbers on the block that would help identify besides the LIM?

EDIT.... DUH.. I ordered an 04 gasket for ...

How to distinguish a Series II vs. Series III motor

soooo... I threw the # 1 rod out the block the other night and need a new motor. Since the rod went, I've hunted down an 04' GTP L67 w/ out UIM. When it arrives, how can I tell it's a series III? Are there part numbers or something on the block I can find? It should be arriving Thursday and need to ...

Re: Ideal Boost Levels

I may be mistaken, as both mine (OBD1 for the Zilla and OBD1.5 for the SLEeper) display only BCS (boost control solenoid) duty cycle. 0% for idle, 100% for full throttle (full boost) and anything in between. Not actual pressure value, but my MAP sensor is only for a boost indication, and not used ...

Re: Rear ELC Trick

No documentation. It was in a clear bag with cardboard hanger tag that reads:
DPDT Center-Off
Auto-Flip Switch
Contacts rated 20A at 12VDC

Again, using my picture posted, on the back of the switch there are corresponding #'s:

1 4
2 5
3 6

Using the wiring diagram given by sonoma_zr2, how would I ...

Re: Rear ELC Trick

These are the best pictures I could take. (need a new camera). The numbers are fuzzy, but on the back side you can see the 1 and 4 are under the top two terminals.

Re: Rear ELC Trick

The SPDT has 3 positions: on-off-on.
I got the DPDT, however, there are 6 terminals. On the back of the switch there are corresponding #'s:

1 4
2 5
3 6

In the diagram, are the dots in order? (i.e. ascending 1-6?)

here is a quick diagram. The DPDT (center off) switch is shown in center position. Throwing the switch "up" connects the yellow wire to ground, which turns on the pump. After the struts are fully extended ...

Just called the dealer and the part # on the oil filter adapter for the 00 bonnie is 12569215. List is $89 but GM parts direct has it for $49.87+.

I'm going to do the aluminum oil pan swap and I'm looking for the oil filter adapter and gasket. Does anyone have this lying around they can part with?

Re: KR elimination

Just wanted to give those in this thread an update...

I had an opportunity to swap out my 3.5 for a 3.4 pulley for $20 and I jumped on it. I know, making mods while trying to fix a problem is not the right thing to do here...but I did it anyway. I still had low timing issues, so I did a little ...

Re: KR elimination

I think we may be on to something....I started another thread on another site and a member there showed histograms how his wideband O2 was reading WOT AFRs of:

11.6:1
11.4
10.6
10.9
11.0
10.5
10.3
9.9

however, the narrow band was showing:

841
903
901
895
889
896
895
908

respectively.
We've been ...

Re: KR elimination

Disconnect the exhaust right at the collector coming out of the manifolds or headers, and yes I'm suggesting running no cat, no exhaust what so ever.. it will be loud but you can test this way without spending money.
I'm actually debating about pulling the cat anyway.... I'd like to change my ...

Re: KR elimination

Grrrr!!! :angry4: Replaced the ICM and moved the grounding wire from the mount (which was aluminum with metal bolt) to the engine block. No change. Still seeing only 5* timing @ WOT. WTF!?! Here's the scan data.
