Remote Start Help

I put a remote start in my 99 last fall, and it worked fine until about the middle of winter. Then i wouldn't work unless you left the key in the ignition. Most of winter when i lived in the country i didn't bother with it and just left a spare locked in it over night so the remote would work, but ...

Re: Mods for better MPG's?

Another tip is to roll down your windows when driving in town versus using the ac, but when you go higher speeds, put your windows up and use the ac. I've noticed a big difference in mileage by doing this.

Re: Mods for better MPG's?

i have noticed though, that driving too much like a grannie gave me worse MPG's and started loading the car up and it would start pinging until i stepped on it a few times. That was back when i was driving 100 miles a day and wanted to save every penny, but now i go through a tank in 2 and a half ...

Re: scariest driving moments (II)

First time: I was driving home late from Foxwoods (around 2 am) with my grandfather when we were about 5 miles from home and it was foggy and the roads were wet. I was on a straight away doing around 40 and i looked in the distance and saw what looked like a huge rock in the road. I locked up the ...

Re: Rear Ball Joints.. Ball Joint Press?

I'd get that kit, we use that same style of press at work, they work pretty good. I'd also get that 14 piece adapter kit just to be on the safe side in case the press kit doesn't have the right adapters. You can't beat those prices.

Re: Rear Tire/Wheel/Hub Problem?

If you have someone shake the tire at 3 and 9 and you look behind the wheel you should be able to tell if its the hub or tie-rod. The tire rod will show play where it attaches to the spindle. If you don't see any movement there then its most likely the hub.

Re: wow, maybe nix on the Xplodes

I've had a single Sony Xplode 12inch sub for about 3 years now and have never had a problem, and it sounds awesome and hits 125 or so dB with a Pioneer 760 watt 2 channel amp bridged (another Wal-mart special) The only problem i have is that sometimes when its hot out the amp will shut of for a few ...

downpipe and cat

Wheres a good place to get a cheap, stock downpipe without the flange, and should i wrap it in anything since it probably won't be double wall.
Also where can i get a cheap high flow cat and a section of pipe with an o2 sensor bung, or maybe a way to bypass the rear o2 without setting of the MIL (we ...

non-platinum plugs will show some wear as they age and the gap will increase, platinum's will too in extreme cases but I've also seen them at 100,000 miles still gaped perfect.

Re: why did you buy your bonneville?

I just happened upon my first bonneville. I was driving a 89 Dihatsu when the engine decided to blow at a red light. A cop came along and helped me push it to a parking lot where a 94 sse was for sale. I started looking at it while i waited on my dad to come. Fully loaded, leather seats, v-6, power ...

Goodyear Assurance Comfort Tread

Awesome tire, great on the highway and in the snow, when i fist got them i took a drive to Georgia (2400+ miles round trip) for thanksgiving and they were the quietest and most comfortable tire I've ever rode on. I've had them on about 10,000 miles ...

My grandfather and mom love my car, but i still can't convince them to drop their fords and get one. My grandfather really likes the exhaust sound and the gutted air box sound.

I had a 94 sse but it got totaled before i joined the club, some guy on his phone rear ended me, but i like my 99 better, not as many options, but the series 2 is much more fun to drive.

thats just the dealership sticker that i haven't removed yet and I'll do a write up on the ipod dock install eventually, i just haven't had the time to hardwire in the power, so for now it plays through the aux inputs and doesn't charge the ipod yet. I've been busy with work and am settling into a ...
