Re: Mother of all repair lists

OUt of curiosity - what long term damage could be done with not replacing the shocks and CV boots? The car doesnt ride poorly at all (I mainly do highway driving with it)

Re: Mother of all repair lists

Thanks Ken - it has 133K miles on it.

I looked over some of the LIM and UIM instructions and though I have a set of tools and do the odd handy job here and there it seems pretty daunting for me.

I dont have something to hold/recover the coolant and making sure its all gone and no air in the system ...

Re: Mother of all repair lists

Have you ever wrenched on your own car?

It would be great if you could do many of those yourself... they are quoting you about $3,000 worth of parts and labor that you could probably do yourself for about $800 or so if you can do your own work.

I also need rear brakes so its about $4000 total ...

Mother of all repair lists

Sorry for the lack of detailed subject - Just got back from a tire rotation and the visual inspection turned up alot of stuff I believe is common for the '02 Bonneville SLE but I wanted to get some advice from the experts here.

First - the car has been running rough for awhile - it feels like an ...

@goochman: Yes, those are the correct parts. 90% chance that those will fix your problem. The other 10% covers the possibility of an electrical problem, which is less likely but not unheard-of. You can tell for certain by examining your current regulators -- if the cable is broken then you have ...

Re: 2000 SE Bonnie 141k back winder

Sorry for the dumb question but both my rear windows wont go up - so if I order the following it should cover everything I need to get my windows working again correct? When I use the switch a noise is made but the window just sinks down and wont go up.

Another satisfied customer with this maintenance tip!

Re: Front end shimmy due to wheel manufacturing defects

Update: Finally broke down and bought 4 new tires last weekend at discount tire. The cheapies, $86 Falken label from cooper tires. Around town no more front end vibration, softer ride, and at quite fast highway speeds just the 4 new tires eliminated about 95% of the total front end vibration I used ...

Re: Access to Front Passenger Drain Tube

You should of used a water hose to test the drains before you started the re-install. The pressure from a heavy rain or car wash might just break those loose again.

I just completed fixing all the leaks on my 02 SLE as well. I had to due multiple tests because of where the water was flowing to in ...

Re: Access to Front Passenger Drain Tube

Success!

I was determined to rip apart the car until I got the pipe connected. I took a different route that might be helpful to others.

1. I would recommend not pulling the tube from the top of the dash (the hard tube) - it is difficult to get it back to the exact spot if you do this.

2. If you ...

Re: Access to Front Passenger Drain Tube

I took a harder look at the sunroof leak thread and noticed the passenger drain is shown - I was able to get the flexible tube out and I pulled the hard tube from the top - ie, confirmation its disconnected.

I tried to fish the hard tube back down so I could reconnect but I can find it with my ...

Access to Front Passenger Drain Tube

After alot of carpet pulling, rubber mat cutting, and towel drying Im 99% certain I found my water leak and its the front passenger drain tube for the sunroof.

There are some good pictures of how to get to the front driver side but not passenger. From my experiments I think Ive found the 'cubby ...

Re: AC Water leak

Ive a bit more looking around and am still confused on where the water is coming from. The sunroof drains appear to be clear - the door shields appear to be ok also.

There was mention of a draingage tube for the AC Evaporator core getting clogged. I found more water in the front well after driving ...
