Fuel Line Leak

I was working on taking care of an antifreeze leak when I set my trouble light down (apparently right on top of a fuel line). Now I have a fuel leak on the plastic line just before the connector to the metal line on top of the engine. Is there a repair for this line? It appears that the line goes ...

Re: overheating - fan not running

The temp sensor was one of my original thoughts, but when the fans didn't come on with the A/C, I had dismissed that. Was I mistaken to dismiss that?

I was approaching the red on the temp gage, so fan should have been running (especially when I had A/C on). Eventually, the DIC told me it was ...

Re: Intermittant Stalling

I didn't smell gas in the FPR, so I ended up changing the fuel pump and haven't had a problem with it since. Thanks for the help. Since replacing the fuel pump, my displayed gas mileage on the DIC is off. It reads about 10MPG higher than actual (before it was right on). What sends the computer the ...

Re: overheating - fan not running

I now have let the car cool off completely. Relays are cool to the touch now. Started car and turned air on, fans work fine. Electrical problem that heated up the relays?? Anyone have any similar problems? All of the relays were very hot when I first started working on the problem. Hot enough that ...

overheating - fan not running

Is there something typical or a good way to troubleshoot why my cooling fans won't come on? First noticed when I got the DIC message that the A/C was shutting down due to hot engine. I was almost to the red on the temp gage. I parked and let it cool down before driving home. I noticed that if I was ...

Re: 2000 Pontiac Bonneville ssei intermittent stall, need he

I have a loaner fuel pressure tester from O'Reilly Auto Parts. They charge your CC when you check it out and if you return in 48 hours, refund the entire amount.

Intermittant Stalling

I've seen others having this same issue. 2000 Bonneville SSIE with just over 200,000 miles. It randomly stalls (doesn't seem to make a difference cold/hot, highway/idle, etc.). It normally starts right back up, but sometimes might need to crank for 5 seconds or so. I've replaced the fuel filter and ...

Steering wheel controls - Bulb Replacement?

Are the bulbs for the steering wheel radio controls replaceable? If so, how do you access them?

Re: Stalling Problem

Sorry to add on to someone elses thread. I will start a new one if you want me to. I just had all of the same symptoms (other than the boost seems to be fine) and thought this would be a good place ask another question.
Is the fuel pressure supposed to vary with engine rpm? I turned key to on, fuel ...

I am going through same thing right now and someone else just finished. For him it was fuel pump. See thread below:

Hope this helps. I am still investigating mine.

Re: Stalling Problem

I am having the same issue, but I am several steps behind you. Mine is very recent and so far have only replaced the fuel filter and cleaned the MAF sensor with no luck either time. I am interested in your results. I have not noticed the issue with the boost gauge, but will check that one out too ...

Re: Fuel Filler Tube Rust

It appears to be the same plastic as the insert that holds the little flapper door thingy (technical term). You may be able to see in the pic that the plastic goes all the way to the edge of the filler tube. It is thicker at the top and bottom. This is where I was cutting away some of the plastic ...

Re: Fuel Filler Tube Rust

I did have it at the dealer one time and had the parts guy look at it. He hadn't seen anything like it either. He had two different caps (?not sure why he didn't know which one was for my car?) that he tried with no luck.

There is some hard plastic along the top and bottom of the filler tube ...

Fuel Filler Tube Rust

I am having difficulties removing the fuel cap. It is very tight and even after turning it, it is diffiult to pull it out, having to 'wiggle' it back and forth. There doesn't appear to be any problems with the cap. I have a fair amount of rust on the filler tube. I am thinking the rust on the filler ...
