HOW-TO Replace Starter on 97 Bonneville ?

Hello . my bonneville has been doing just fine since i bought it . but the starter is going out . it takes a few taps and will start .

So, it does not look real hard . but could use some pointers and maybe someone already made a step by step list/pics of this job ?

Yes got to love the copart fee's

did you go down to the lot and place the 1300 dollar bid ? if you did you could of saved $50 bucks in fees , thats what i try to do now ...

let us know how it works out ? if they switched anything or messed it up more by loading it on the gaint payloader fork ...

I just did a pan drop less than 100 miles ago , and the fuild was dirty but now its decent . this is the first time it has done this

Also just installed a 180 Stat ? and a/c was on and car temp was only 180ish at max , maybe the trany needs to be warmer hence the 195 stat ?

Bonneville has bee running great but today all the sudden it starts shifting " HARD " Not really Slipping . and would pulse at low speed under light acceleration and 3-4 would act weird and up and down shift under light acceleration. let me know how that auction at copart goes ? and if anything is missing replaced when you get it back .

like floormats goone and the fuel tank drained if it was full ?

i wanted to buy a car from them but they have some bad rep ?

not only that they will probaly stick a fork lift under the car ...

Front driver side window has not worked since i bought the bonneville . but when you push down it makes a LOUD Noise that does not sound good . i know for sure it wont go for 200 i put a max bid of 750 . since iam close and could maybe drive it home . or i have a freind with a truck . and i will go to uhaul and rent a car dolly .

well iam thinking of buying a car from copart and all i have is pics . just wondering if someone can look at the pics and tell me if its fixable ? does it look like it has frame damage ? it does not need to be perfect just fixable ? it is a 2000 SSEI with 140 k . inside is Clean , runs and drives ...

no its not where you test fuel pressure . there is a vavle like a tire vale with a cap on it nest to the fuel pressure regulator on the front fuel rail .

idk the name per say . i call it the fuel rail plastic retaining clip when i go to the parts store , theyy know

does it leak if you dont touch it ? dont think there is any o rings in there but that clip can be replaced .

but when your pushing down on it your probaly breaking the seal and 50 psi of fuel is spraying out . if you dont touch it and does not leak i say your ok . maybe some one else can chime in ...

i thought the front stem was the for testing the fuel pressure..it has a rubber black top on it and when i push down on it gas does leak just wanted to know if its normal and if it could possibly trigger a code for p0171

ok yes we are talking about the same thing its a quick release fuel line ...

"rear fuel feed " did you mean where the rear fuel line plugs into the rear fuel rail ? it has like a quick relase white tabs on it like the fuel filter ?

mine would leak if i stressed the line or moved the line . i think as long as it does not leak when your not bending , moving , or pushing down ...

i have some small cracks strating in my vinyl dash and one is like a star burst crack the size of a qauter . is there some stuff out there ( cheap Stuff ) . like i seen it on "as seen on TV" commercials of leather and vinyl repair stuff ? try shoe polish that you can find the same color of your dash . other than that idk .

did you try like armor all ? probaly looks good for a day than the armor wears off and ull see it again ?

that goo off is Very abrasive it eats everything including plastic . :sadeyz:

yes a blown speaker would make some noise and the chances of two speaker blowning at same time and nither will make a noise . ya sounds like they just never got hooked up . Recheck the wiring .

i take it there factory speakers ? any one messed with wires hanging from under the trunck deck ? maybe ...
