Re: 1996 SE Auto unlock
Thanks for the information. I've really dug into the 96-99 auto unlocking feature and have found some interesting information i think would be helpful for anyone in the future. 96,97,98-99 have different defaults. Changing these settings can be found in the owners manual of correct year.

1996 SE Auto unlock
The doors will lock when put into gear and they don't unlock until the key is off. I was thinking the doors should unlock when the shifter returns to park? Did this update not come until later? Anyway to change when the doors unlock?

Here are the two coolant sensors on a L27 block. The black two wire one is for computer and the white one wire one is for the gauge.

Re: Let's talk wiper blades
After trying many many brands. I have found that on my 94 Bonneville the best blade is the 22 inch Rain‑X Weatherbeater. Any other form of blade will leave streaks even if its brand new. I have tried rain x latitude and they are horrible on this type of car at 22 bucks a blade. I have gone to the ...

Catalytic converter might be plugged. Easy place to start that doesn't cost you money is if you somehow drop that section of exhaust pipe out. However, still Could be transmission and even another issue.

Re: 2000 Bonneville Se, adding trunk release option.
Best way to find out is to tear apart the glove box to see if the harness is there for the button. I would think it would be IMO. If not that might be a deal breaker in adding this to your car. I have no clue what kind of locking mechanism is on your trunk lid, but it might just be easier to find ...

Re: 2000 Bonneville Se, adding trunk release option.
Trunk release should be in glove box right? I think it was actually an option to have a trunk release button on an SE of that year which is foolish. I think it's very possible to add a trunk release tho.

Re: 200,000 Miles
200k on spark plugs?? no way lol. I just haven't changed the wires for the spark plugs to the coil packs because they go bad/get corroded. However, I did run a set of spark plugs for 100k miles or so and they really didn't look too bad.

Your 94 SE came with the option of having a key fob? or did they put the modules in all of the models?
