Update on my 04 GXP:
Still running, not using coolant at 134k+ mileage. Definitely worth the $250 I spent to fix the leaking head gasket! The only issue at the moment are lean codes on banks 1&2 which is throwing a chk eng code.

Motor mounts
Does anyone know how many motor mounts the 2004 GXP has? I’ve looked online and I see groups of 3 and a set of 2 for the 2004 model. Should the tranny mounts be replaced when the motor mounts are replaced?

THERMALWELD works!!!!!!!
Hey folks. I wanted to give an update on my 04 GXP with the blown head gasket. I was not financially able to swap the motor with a rebuilt one. Prices ranged between 7k and 12k. Found some off the shelf head gasket sealer products but none seemed to have any good reviews or resulted in a long term ...

Re: Brake calipers
Ok learned that the bonneville’s rear calipers are “hinged” for lack of a better word. Found a YouTube vid on rear brake service for the 6cyl version. Brake bleeders need replacing on all 4 due to heavy corrosion. Not looking forward to it.

Where the upper bolt head should be is what looks like a cap that has a rubber plug in the middle. Is this some sort of dust cap? I ...

Re: New Member
Glad to join the group! New owner of a 2004 GXP. It was my sons car. He parked it 2.5 years ago because it was running horribly. Not sure of what I’ve gotten myself into. It’s running really rough and it has at least 22 active codes. I’m sure there will be many questions to follow.
