Re: Problem areas for 94 Bonnevlles

Problem areas? like any other car, age and driving take their toll.
Are you having any problems with your bonneville? If it's not broken, then don't fix it.

Re: Changing Spark Plugs and Wires.

Iridium is more corrosive resistant than platinum, iridium is actually the most corrosive resistant metal but aside from that, I have heard that the small electrodes on the iridium plugs don't do well in forced induction engines (the small iridium tips have a better chance of breaking off into the ...

Re: Missing - Rough under WOT

Beast, I was not trying to rule anything out, I said that it would not run good LOW to high rpm, I did not say that it would run bad at IDLE to high rpm. You said yourself that at 10% throttle (low rpm) you started to have problems.

Re: Missing - Rough under WOT

I too would consider checking out the cat, if you were having an issue with your ignition system it wouldn't run good at all
( low or high rpm) is your new fuel pump the same as/equivalent to the factory one?

Re: SHE'S WOUNDED!!!

OUCH!!!

Your best bet on getting those clips cheap might be a junkyard. Might luck out find a replacement fender there as well. After all, the thrill of the hunt is half the fun. I always find myself going in for one thing and end up coming out with four or five others.

I probably will end up ...

Re: SHE'S WOUNDED!!!

WTF. That sucks SO BADLY.

How old was that tire? Still under warranty? I'd set in a claim if its under 4 years old and you have your receipt!

I do not specifically know how old the tires are, I'm guessing around five years, they look like typical tires that have been used
(I got the car for free ...

Doesnt matter, need to get the dex out. Time is also an issue, not only miles
I meant that the LIM gaskets are probably fine.

Re: Vacuum leak?

I always run 91 octane, I'll pull it off and see whats going on, if it's a minor leak I might slap some silicone on it.

Vacuum leak?

At idle I can hear a "hissing" noise coming from the throttle body and I have pinpointed the noise at the EGR tube inlet to the throttle body.

Is it normal to hear a hissing noise come from this tube or do I have a vacuum leak?

Why does everbody on this forum despise Bosch products?

I'm just curious as to why everybody on this forum is afraid of Bosch products
can somebody provide my with a reason/explanation or an example as to why I should never use:

Bosch spark plugs

Bosch ignition wires

Bosch oxygen sensors

(on a 1994 bonneville SSEi)

Re: Ignition lock cylinder

Yeah, I don't need the VATS wiring, when I got my car it didn't come with keys so the lock cylinder in it is useless and I don't feel like spending 40-50$ on one with the VATS wiring when I could buy a non-VATS one for 1990 bonneville for around 20$

Would an ignition lock cylinder from a 1990 bonneville fit a 1994 bonneville?

Did 1994's come with exhaust manifold gaskets? I just pulled the front exhaust manifold off today and noticed that there wasn't a gasket anywhere on the manifold or on the block......

Re: Thoughts on catalytic converter removal

So the resonator and muffler don't provide sufficient back pressure alone?

My car has 118,000 miles and runs great (does burnouts with no trouble).

At what mileage do these stock cats clog substantially ?

I would think three obstructions in an exhaust system would be somewhat restricting but you ...

Re: Thoughts on catalytic converter removal

True, but like I said it is not required to smog cars in my county....so as long as I am within my county limits I am not breaking any laws and I would never have a reason to go to a repair shop being that I can do most of the work myself.
