Salvage Parts Question
What were the changes between my 98 SE and the next generation of Bonnevilles? I'm not looking for a complete list, but I have an issue with my 98 where it sat for a while due to busted brake lines, and a squirrel got into it and chewed through some lines and wiring. What I'm looking for is a ...

Re: Rear Ball Joints
The third one they sent had the boot and castle nut from a much larger ball joint. Amazon told me to send them all back and source it locally if possible. So I ordered one from O'Reilly and rented the tool again...frustrating

Stinks, because it's only 10 minutes worth of work once I have the boot. Looks like I'm have to borrow a vehicle again this week

Re: Rear Ball Joints
What a difference removing the sway bar end-links made! I ended up cutting them out, as I rounded off one and the other was frozen. I would've had it done tonight (minus new end-links), but one of the ball joints was shipped without a boot...it looked like the package had been previously opened. I ...

Rear Ball Joints
How do you keep the knuckle out of the way long enough to line up the ball joint and press to install the new ball joint? It took me forever to get it out of the way long enough to press the old one out. Any help would be appreciated, I'm stuck. I tried removing the two bolts for the knuckle and ...

Re: Rear Ball Joints.. Ball Joint Press?
Also, I tried removing the two bolts for the knuckle and they are seized...i removed the nuts, and soaked the bolts with PB-Blaster, but if I don't have to remove them, I don't want to. Also, I thought about removing the rear sway bar end-links to help free it up, but they are frozen as well, so I ...

Re: '98 N/A TB Question
So what did you replace to make the pressure test pass on the cooling system since you did it the first time?
I checked the manual on the pressure tester, it says to check after a couple of minutes, I was waiting longer, so I think it was possibly an air bubble working it's way out. I ended up ...

Re: '98 N/A TB Question
Does it look like it's coming from the valve cover gaskets?
I haven't looked into much after that assesment. I replaced the valve cover gaskets 30k miles ago, it could be that I pinched that side, once I have my truck back on the road, I'll pull it in and look at it again. For now, it's not ...

Re: '98 N/A TB Question
I went to get coolant and oil samples and noticed oil on the exhaust manifold heat shield which would explain the smoke. The oil analysis came back clean. I pressure-checked the cooling system and everything checked out fine. Looks like it was just oil on the heat shield.

Re: '98 N/A TB Question
It's probably the intake gaskets, or maybe the LIM coolant passage next to the EGR port. On a cool morning, is there any goop on the inside of the oil fill cap? That's a common sign of coolant in the oil. It condenses there.
The TB does have coolant in it.
That's no good, I just replaced the ...

'98 N/A TB Question
Does the throttle body on the N/A engines have coolant running through it? I can't remember and I'm trying to track down a coolant leak. I've pressurized the radiator to the mark on my Stant kit for 15 psi, and it doesn't hold...has a slow leak, but I don't see any coolant anywhere. I'm working ...

Good luck, I wasn't able to find anything for that or the piece that goes into the middle of the intake plenum on the firewall side.

Once I get my car back on the road and some money in my pocket, I'm going with the Torque app. I've heard nothing but positive reviews.

Where to find lines from TB to EVAP
Does anyone know where to buy these? I broke mine when changing my upper and lower intake gaskets. One line goes to the EVAP, the other to the fuel rail.
