Re: Humming noise and vibration in front passenger compartme

I swapped a same size tire to the front but still have the humming sound and vibration. I checked the sway bar it looks good and mounting hardware is in place and secure. I spun the tire and moved it in and out - to my knowledge the wheel bearing is ok. I drove the car down a long hill at about 30 ...

Re: Humming noise and vibration in front passenger compartme

About two months ago - I'll swap a back tire of the same size to the front and see what happens - I hope I have not caused any damage to the differential - I didn't know about the differential being a weak spot on these cars - I also didn't realise what I thought was a small difference in tire size ...

Humming noise and vibration in front passenger compartment

About 2 months ago I started hearing what I describe as a load humming sound that seems to increase with MPH speed (I don't recall replaceing or modifying anything at this time) - at the same time components in the front passenger area vibrate - sun glass holder - headlight switch. The sound seems ...

column lever broken-revisited-switch on dash for hi-low?

I've been dealing with my broken turn signal lever mechanism for months now (see below post) - haven't had time, energy , or money to repair. I can do all the function of the lever but the toughest, biggest pain is switching low beam - high beam and back. Do you guys have a wiring diagram that I can ...

Engine cage mounting bolt pulled through mount - need advice

Not sure if I am using the proper naming of components but the cradle/cage that the bottom of the engine sits in has 6 rubber mounts that bolt into the underside of the car. one of these mounts/bolts on the far back closest to the fuel filter has pulled through the bottom of the mount. The mount ...

Re: Turn signal - high low beam - wiper switch broken in col

I can take a picture but I don't know how to attach it to this post. Please advise.

I have looked at the broken piece closer - the switch is not broken (plastic electrical unit) but the piece it sits in /connects to ( I believe is the turn signal mechanism) it also has a pin to hold it in place ...

Turn signal - high low beam - wiper switch broken in column

This morning I switched my high beams on and the entire switching mechanism broke loose inside the column. As best as I can tell the switch fits into a C shaped metal bracket that it swivels on. The metal C shaped bracket has broken on the top edge. Its hard to tell but it looks like I would have to ...

Cable is good - haven't had the chance to get under the dash to check the brake sensor yet. I'll report back when done.

Thanks...Milty

Re: Steering - right turn moderate resistence

I was hoping it is not the rack - lots of $$$$$ - if it is I will replace it myself. Any other thoughts from club members?

Crusie control not working

My crusie control stopped working yesterday. I checked vacuum hose and power to unit - no issues found - anything else I can check or test?

When the car is in park idling and I turn the steering wheel lock to lock no difference is felt in resistence.

Steering - right turn moderate resistence

In the last month I have noticed when making a hard right turn - main road to side road - 90 degree angle - I feel a moderate amount of resistence - no resistence making a left turn. Steering fluid is full - looks clean - does not smell burnt. Does this sound like a steering rack going bad or a ball ...

Re: Brake line replacement - inline valve ?

Bucky,

I have a 93 Bonne. Facing back of car on my left is the rear wheel I am working on - brake line routes to the rearmost ABS port under the hood - closest to firewall. I am reusing my valve (proportioning or residual?) Good luck on your routing !!!!

Re: Brake line replacement - inline valve ?

Thanks for the info - heading back to parts store - got the old one apart - probably just work it into the new brake line unless parts store has a new one

Brake line replacement - inline valve ?

I pulled off a leaking brake line from the ABS junction unit under the hood all the way to the back rear wheel cylinder. Close to the wheel cylinder in the brake line is about a 2 inch long (coupler)? that the auto parts tech told me was just a connector for the two brake lines. Does this sound ...

Re: AntiLock brake light on constant

Is it worth buyng an ABS scanner or cheaper to have a mechanic run the scan? If its not a wheel sensor what else could keep the light lit?

AntiLock brake light on constant

My antilock dash brake light is on constant - I haven't noticed any brake issues yet - I have not tried to pull codes yet - I'm hoping its just one of the wheel sensors - once I pull codes if it is a sensor will it denote which wheel?

Thanks.....Milty
