Finally dug into my front brakes with new pads and rotors and quickly found the culprit--upon removing the caliper from the rotors, the inner pads completely fell away from their metal backing plate. I'm assuming this was allowing them to slide back and forth quite a bit. :wink: I'm guessing these ...

Noticed it yesterday. Light kicks off once the engine is up to operating temperature.
Radiator and puke tank are both at proper levels. I haven't spotted any leaks. Bad sensor?

Sounds good. Will the Grand Prix brake job (pads/rotors) look about the same as my '00 Bonneville once I dig in or am I in for any surpises? The rotors are original from '01 and looking a bit thin so I think I'll go ahead and replace. I doubt they can be machined.

I've done brakes several times on my past vehicles but have never had to rebuild the calipers. What is involved?

Intermediate shaft is a good guess but this is a different feel than that. Definitely coming from the front wheels. You can "sense" it.

Through the wheel but very, very subtle. I feel something "release" once and then that's it--I don't feel anything else during my trip. Drives straight and true and shifts well.

First mod I'd suggest is swapping the wheels from the Bonneville onto the GTP. That'd be HOT!!

Checked with my usual auto repair shop and their price is reasonable for a flush so I'm going to let them make a mess on their floor this time. I did however buy some distilled water and Prestone All Makes A/F to make sure they put what I want in it.

Wow, there is a lot of 'stuff' out there that says if you start with Dex-Cool, to flush the system BUT stay with Dex-Cool. Looking for suggestions...

What's your recommendation for a cooling system flush? It appears the Dex-Cool has been maintained but I'd like to get it out of there. Any cooling-system flush product you like more than another? Thanks.
