I found the power steering line for 42 bucks on OEHQ.com the part is backordered for two weeks , I also found a mechanic that said its a b**** to change, but will charge 2hours labor to do it, while he is under there I am going to have him change out the oiler cooler lines which I also got from the ...

Re: Transmission shifting very, very bad
After an overheat condition due to a bad tensioner that ate the waterpump belt (doubt this is related) I to had the "hard shift" and slam from park to drive, after shutting the car down for a few, this seemed to resolve the hard shift and slam issue. Not sure if it will come back soon but changeing ...

Re: power steering leak at pressure line
Yes, typically it takes an hour per side, however; after watching them with an air hammer for over two hours, I called for a ride, the service manager said that they were frozen mostly from corrosion, salt etc from our northeast snow storms

Re: power steering leak at pressure line
Thanks everyone, the price of around 100 seems to be correct, I am waiting for a quote on this line shorty and I will post what I paid and where I got it from. Seems that alot of mechanics (other than gm) frown abit when I bring this car in for work, the hubs were frozen so severely that it took ...

Re: Rear pads and rotors - Recommendations?
Actually, No, didn't know that, guess my general point was, wow lots of bugs to fix at once, all and all I do like this car, just wish I wasn't spending so much time hunting down solutions to annoying little problems, overall, the car mechanically is great and no issues, less expensive to fix than ...

Re: Rear pads and rotors - Recommendations?
The bottom bolt of the caliper was removed, the top "pin" and it is a pin, may have made the calipers slide up, but there was no side to side movement, which is not good for these new pads, there is no access point to remove this pin, or punch it out with a punch, unless the whole unit was removed ...

Re: Rear pads and rotors - Recommendations?
Actually, no it didn't slide side to side, didnt know it was suppose to, apparently that might be the problem, whats the correction for this>? that pin doesn't look like it can be replaced without having it pressed out, there is like a little rubber grommet in the end, but that didnt pull out either ...

Re: Rear pads and rotors - Recommendations?
For five bucks I purchased a universal tool that turns the piston in, and the pistons turned in without much of an issue, however, something still isn't quite right, because even though the piston turned in all the way, it was a very tight and I mean tight fit once I put the caliper over the pads, I ...

Re: heated seats
After finishing other issues with my gxp, one last issue is the heated drivers seat, it worked before it went to the dealership (didnt work after the dealership) was brought in for rear heated glass issue and ended up with no heated seat, just the switch lite that comes on and immediately off, was ...

Re: Rear pads and rotors - Recommendations?
The inside pads were totally toast!!!!! yes, I believe they were absolutely hung up, its why I put my mechanic gloves back on and remembered why I do these things myself,,,,,,I'd feel better if I was the one who missed the tab issue and yes they can be modified to slide better, the mechanic ...

Re: Rear pads and rotors - Recommendations?
I used ebc brakes and rotors all around, actually had a mechanic install them, well, their all shot now at only 12k, so I decided to inspect them, first I thought it was calipers hung up, but the pistons retracted without a problem, I noticed the pads were difficult to pry out, which is the problem ...
