Re: Michigan Drag Day Revenge October 9th and 10th

I tenatively plan to go, not sure if I'll bring the Bonneville, or the truck. I have a friend that may want to bring his SRT-8 Jeep.

Re: Bubbles in the Paint

I have some around the fuel filler. My car has been sitting a few months, and I just noticed them a few days ago. I'm hoping they go away, buy not likely.

Re: Reprogramming remotes 2k+

You are correct, it is molded inside the key fob. Hold lock + unlock together for 7 seconds after battery replacement. I wish I had saw that, when my battery died. I just tried it, and it doesn't work now. I still have one good remote.

00Beast, how do you reprogram the remotes, if you just changed the batteries? I have one that doesn't work anymore.

Re: Transmission rebuild

You make it look so easy. I think you need to host another meet "real soon", and we'll tear into mine. I had it rebuilt, less than 2 years ago. It started leaking from the pan, and I accidently overfilled it. Needless to say I no longer have 1st or 4th gear. It has sat since March.

Re: Michigan meet '10 June 4th - 11th / weekend of 5th & 6th

I'm sure it will be slow. Just a basically stock '89 350. Intake and 40 series flowmaster, are all it has for mods. Also only has a 3.08 gear. I really just want to see what it will do, before I rebuild or replace the motor, trans, and rear end.

I'm also trying to get my brother -in-law to come out ...

If I come, I will be going to track on Sunday only, and I will be bringing this:

The Bonneville needs a trans.
I won't know for sure, until later next week. I may have to work, but not likely on Sunday.

Re: Tuning for 3.29 gears DHP

There was a post about tuning for 3.29's on BPro a few months ago, using HPtuners. I haven't tried it, because I don't have a tuner. It's the only thread I've posted in over there, so if you look for my posts, you will be able to find it.

Re: Gear Ratios

I just changed from 2.84 to 3.29, and my fuel economy actually went up. I've only filled up once, and averaged 24mpg, I used to get 21-22. I think it is mostly because the engine doesn't have to work as hard to accelerate. Cruising RPM's only went up 200-300 @ 70MPH. I hit a new top speed after the ...

It's very similar to what I used for mine. To buy it would be pretty expensive. I got mine from work, for free. If people are interested, I could come up with a couple pieces as well.

Re: ? Best Shift Kit ?

I'll get a quote for you from the shop that did my tranny rebuild. They are in Brighton, should not be too much of a drive for you.

Here's the quote: $149 for a complete flush, inclucing fluid, gasket, and filter. $140-160 to install the shift kit, that you supply.

I think it could be a little ...

Re: TRanny

Keep looking!! I would recommend a transgo shift kit at a mininum. Anything beyond that would depend on your budget. My built trans, including a gear ratio change was just over 3k, with install.

Re: Do you use your Fogs/Driving lights?

I turn mine on every night. It helps illuminate the side of the road, to help in seeing deer. I turn them off during the day. I wish the fog lights only came on when the headlights were on, and not with the driving lights during the day.

Re: TRanny

The clicking was from trying to start the car as soon as you hooked it up. It needs a few minutes to charge if your battery is dead.

When I had my trans rebuilt I changed my gear ratio to a 3.29, which required me to upgrade to an HD diff, and change my passanger side axle. Diff and axle were ...

Re: TRanny

For 2 grand you should be able to get a complete rebuild, easy. I would suggest taking it to a trans shop, and let them diagnose it. I just had mine rebuilt less than a month ago. I got two quotes from two different shops, and had some pretty specific things I wanted done, beyond a standard rebuild ...
