I cut several vacuum lines in front of the heater box while replacing my heater core and haven't had any dash functionality since. I'm in the process of trying to revive my air conditioning and wanted to make sure I could get the air blowing from the dash vents before I spend a ton of money.

Vent Blend door location(s)?
I'm looking to locate the vent blend door or doors in my '94 Lesabre with Dual Zone ECC. I'm looking to, if possible, rig them to manually select the dash vents to get the A/C that soon may be fixed to blow on my face instead of the windshield. Pictures or service diagrams would be especially ...

Re: new engine, series 1 or 2
Agreed on rolling along with what you have unless it's actively giving you problems, engine-wise. Transmission may be another story. Replacing that has been creeping into my mind for a while as I just passed 150K miles.

Where are those prices from? Advance Auto's website lists both racks at $71.99 from Cardone.

Re: Can a brother get a picture...
I really think that just solved it for me, thank you! That's definitely not how I put mine in :banghead: I think I just sat my thermostat right on top of the gasket (like the old O-ring was) and hoped it sealed. It isn't haha, so thank you!

Re: Can a brother get a picture...
Anyone?
Even just an overly dramatic explanation of exactly how yours sat in and went back together would help. I've tried three (3) new thermostats since this began happening and they all produced low temps, so it must be something I did wrong with the gasket thingy...

Re: more detailed instructions on heater core replacement?
Got it! Thanks for the advice and links. The vac stuff wound up breaking, so I've got no dash vents for the moment, but since my ECC wont channel heat to the dash anyway it's not a big issue.
Thanks again, folks!

Re: more detailed instructions on heater core replacement?
Ok, I can't figure out for the life of me how the vac fitting comes off the box beside the core cover. I know that box has to move to give room for the heater core cover to come off but I just can't figure out how...

Re: more detailed instructions on heater core replacement?
I have ECC. I've read also about grounding the core, I'm assuming I can just run a bit of insulated wire from somewhere on the core to a screw on the chassis?

more detailed instructions on heater core replacement?
Hey guys, so I'm planning on replacing my busted heater core soon, so I went out today to dig under the dash to get a feel for things and I'm a bit puzzled to say the least. :dontknow:
I've done a bunch of searching here and on other pages, and found a lot of rather inspecific "take the glovebox ...

long-running idle/OD roughness
How's it goin', Bonne' crew!? It's been too long!
I haven't posted much since I finished my Top End gasket job early this spring, but i've decided to really put my mind to solving my long-standing rough idle/OD shudder issue. As a couple of you guys know, i've had my share of "issues" with my car's ...

Re: Brake warning light & chime, help me diagnose?
Cool, so i guess that means that my brakes aren't just gonna stop working tomorrow if i drive it? Brake pedal feel hasn't changed, and they function fine.
If that sensor's dead, do i basically have to replace the master cylinder to fix it?

Brake warning light & chime, help me diagnose?
For the past several days, less than a week, i've had my Brake warning light pop on with the chime going off each time i've driven my car. I looked in my Owner's Manual for a specific explanation of what it means, but it just says to have the car serviced.

Re: Coil pack resistance and misfires
Have you looked at the icm to see if its dirty or corroded? Also a broken spring on the rocker of the misfiring cylinder could cause it, had same pproblem with wifes explorer and turned out to be a broken spring under the rocker, just have to pull off the valve cover gasket to check.

Re: Coil pack resistance and misfires
i tested for spark at the coils, and all seemed uniform. i tested the spark at the ends of the plug wires, and a couple looked weak so i replaced them.
