I think you can get a HUD on ebay.
Just type in HUD.
I don't know a lot about them, but that might be an easier option.

Re: non working HUD question
It could be a few problems and I can't see why it can't be serviced. The Head-Up Display is not complex in these cars. There is the projector and the control along with the wiring. Both the projector and control are fairly easy to acquire. It could be wiring, but it won't be a fuse since the HUD ...

non working HUD question
Hello Everybody,
It's been a number of years since I had a Bonneville, but I miss them and am considering buying one now...a 2000 SSEi.
The only thing that makes me hesitant is that I'm told the HUD does not work.

From reading the techinfo article on this subject, is it really necessary to remove the exhaust crossover pipe?

Does your coolant tank bubble/boil or have generally fumey air? No, no bubbles or smell
That would be a sign of a bad head gasket. It would also be part of the cumulative sign that hell has frozen over.
Not that it doesn't happen ever, but rarely does a headgasket go bad in 3800s unless the car ...

Is it a head gasket or intake gasket on a 1995 SE?
My 1995 Bonneville SE has started consuming coolant in the last few days. Last night after starting it, white smoke came out of the exhaust for about 2-3 minutes. It used about 2.5-3 quarts of coolant each day going to/from work the last 2 days.

The above video is funny, but it's be funnier it this was happening to somebody else : )
Anyway, I've ordered a FSM, but it has not yet arrived. I've read that the FSM suggests doing this job by removing the dash.

Re: Heater problems on 1995 SE
Update: I turned it into a shop. The old guy I've been bringing cars to for years didn't want to mess with the airmix actuator...so now I am going to work on it.
I'm stuck. I am working on it this minute, have a sore back, so I thought I'd take a break see if anybody is online to help.

On my car , the original poster, there was just a trace under

Coolant loss question for 1995 SE 3.8L non supercharged
Greetings,
Today I noticed that the coolant recovery tank was empty on my 1995 SE w/ 3.8 non super charged Bonneville.
I checked the radiator and noticed it was about 3 inches low (no dexcool here, just green coolant). Took about 2-3 quarts to fill it.

Re: Heater problems on 1995 SE
I could see and hear it move, but I don't know if it is in the right position...it must not be, because even when it should vent cool air from outside, to inside the car, it is always warm.

Re: Heater problems on 1995 SE
Update: Well, I tried working on it last weekend.
I couldn't get the (I think it's the HVAC controller) out of the way so I could access the airmix actuator (AA). After several hours of no success, I gave up and turned it into a local shop.
I got it back the evening of 3/16/12. They said the AA ...

Thanks for the prompt reply! I haven't dug into the problem yet, but it sounds like this is the solution.
Is there anything that needs to be done to clear the flashing temperature light?
Thanks so much!

Re: resetting service security system light
Yes, I would have saved the money, but I did not know for sure what the problem was. My scanner did not detect the codes...the stealer's, I mean the dealer's did.
I have never replaced an ignition switch either...not quite sure how to do it.
