Details on how to replace all four Mounts
I know what you mean. Most people just call them all motor mounts, and the rear, side, or front is confusing talking about a motor mounted sideways like in most front wheel drive cars like the Bonneville. But you need to know the correct name and part number when you order the parts. I know Amazon ...

Re: Replaced All 4 Tranny/motor Mounts; Runs much better!
Here you go. Start with DEA's website, http://deaproducts.com/ , plug in your year Bonneville, mine was a 2000 SLE, and you will get pictures and part numbers of the 3 automatic transmission (AT) mounts and the one motor mount for the Bonneville. I used those DEA part numbers to search within ...

Re: Replaced All 4 Tranny/motor Mounts; Runs much better!
After a week of driving around a lot on the three new transmission mounts and the one motor mount I had put in on my 2000 SLE, all the front end vibration of the last two years is completely gone at all speeds.
I had the shop give me the old mounts back, and the head mechanic said they didn't look ...

Re: Will Chinese Firms Start Making Bonneville Exterior Part
The production runs are similar. The total production run of the 2003-2011 LTC body style was about 270,000, close enough to the 200,000 Bonnevilles produced in the 2000-2005 body style. The 2003-2011 LTCs have different Tail Light Assemblies and other exterior parts than the similar 1998-2002 LTCs ...

Will Chinese Firms Start Making Bonneville Exterior Parts?
I think they will.
While the Bonneviile's mechanical parts are easily available and relatively cheap, the exterior parts like the tail light assemblies and the rear center reflector are tough or hard or impossible to find as aftermarket parts, but that could change.
For example, I recently bought ...

Re: Triplets? Bonneville v Audi A8 v BMW 840
My point was just to show how similar in shape and size the 2000-2005 Bonneville is to new and expensive German 4-door sedans. I've parked next to them before and the resemblance is striking in person. Obviously, no one looking to buy these new $100,000 German cars would buy a Bonneville.

Triplets? Bonneville v Audi A8 v BMW 840
A side by side comparison: Can you pick out the 2000 Pontiac Bonneville from the 2021 Audi A8 and the 2021 BMW 840? They are almost exactly the same dimensions in length, width, height and wheelbase. (Hint: only one is less than $100,000.)

Replaced All 4 Tranny/motor Mounts; Runs much better!
Hi Guys,
Yesterday I had a shop replace the three transmission and the one motor mount on my 2000 SLE with new DEA/Marmon ones. And that seems so far to have instantly fixed the ongoing problem that I've had with harsh shifting and a lot of vibration around 45-65 mph (which would go away if I got ...

How to get to HVAC mode actuator to replace?
Hi guys,
I need to replace my HVAC mode actuator on my 2000 SLE; it's stuck blowing only to the floor. Last night I got as far as removing the driver's kick panel and ductwork; moved some module out of the way, and removed a plastic 1/2" hose.
I can see the mode actuator now, but just could not ...

Cap That Coolant Loss!
I suddenly started losing coolant last week, and solved it by just replacing the cap on the coolant tank. Had never considered that until a mechanic pointed the bad cap out to me. He said a bad cap could cause coolant loss as hot coolant boils away with a bad cap. My 21 year old cap had a crack on ...

Replacing all 4 Transmission/motor mounts, Video How to do
I've replaced my front transmission mount (next to the radiator in front) multiple times, the last time ten days ago. Did not help with getting motor torque movement down, so I'm guessing that the rear tranny mount at 202,000 miles has turned to mush. I ordered the set of four mounts from Rockauto ...

Re: Updated trans mount design - The Boat Roller Mount
I did not take any photos, but had the bushing in place per your photo. I did get the third washer, but did not use it between the bushing and the subframe because that washer was not in your photo. I'm not sure what difference that would make, unless (guessing here) without that third washer the ...

Re: Updated trans mount design - The Boat Roller Mount
What did I do wrong? I ordered the kit from Andrew for the front tranny mount just behind the radiator about six months ago and could not make it work on my stock 2000 SLE.

Re: Oil pressure gauge reads ZERO!
Thanks for your advice. Were you using the AC Delco sending units? That's what I was thinking of doing first before getting into redoing the wiring connector. Replacing the sensor/ sending unit was easy as I bought the special socket tool. Splicing in the new wire connector looks tough, I don't see ...

Re: Oil pressure gauge reads ZERO!
Same issue now on my 2000; started a week ago after hitting high water level, made worse by splash from big SUV. Pulled over and checked oil level, good, and motor sounded fine. An hour later gauge started working intermittently, but now does not work at all. I had replaced oil pressure sending unit ...

Re: Help! Can't get radiator out 2001 SSEi
Exactly right! It takes 10 minutes at the most to remove that hunk of steel brace and then everything is easy to get to replace the radiator. See my link above for how I did it, written for an amateur like me in baby steps. I did not want to have to remove that brace at first and wasted hours trying ...
