Re: A couple of questions

The rear shocks are a super easily replacement too. Remove wheel, 3 nuts on top behind the trunk liner, 2 bolts on the control arm down below, and the air line. I recommend getting the ACDelcos or Gabriel SkyJackers off of RockAuto since they come with air lines to splice in.

Speaking of the ...

Re: Misfiring engine, check engine light flashing

Thank you 96SSEi. After reading your post, and also a very informative site on diagnosis ( http://troubleshootmyvehicle.com/gm/3.8L/troubleshooting-misfire-codes-1 ), I headed to O'Reilly's to narrow down the misfire. This is (hopefully) the conclusion to the story.

The codes that came up were ...

Misfiring engine, check engine light flashing

My 02 SE presumably had new spark plugs and wires a year ago when I got it. A couple months ago, it misfired a few times after going through deep puddles, or in wet conditions. I replaced the spark plug wires with good results. Around a week ago, it started misfiring consistently with the check ...

Re: for those with the comon cold & warm air problem

Well a couple weeks agoI twisted my body up and got the drivers air mix actuator off. I do in fact have dual climate control in this car; maybe it's not common in an SE . I have always been extremely flexible, and was a ballet dancer when I was much younger. I can catch a ball or Frisbee at shoe ...

Re: for those with the comon cold & warm air problem

Looks like I'm a little late to the party, but I truly and sincerely appreciate all the descriptions and pictures. I am diving into the ducts to try to diagnose/fix mine. I have cold air on the passenger dash and rear seat, but hot air on the drivers side and passenger floor. The air seems to come ...

Re: Good News on Key Fob Programming 2001-2005

Cleaning the contacts didn't do anything the first time. Then I changed the bad door module and that didn't fix the problem. But then I tried unplugging and replugging in the remote receiver. After I did that, One of the key fobs worked. So I cleaned the other one again, and then it worked too. I ...

Re: 2000 Bonneville Blend Door Actuators

I have hot air on the driver side, cold air of the passenger side with the AC on. I have terrible week airflow on the floor with heat or AC on . As of last fall, the AC pressure is good. Do I need one, two, three, or four actuators, or do I need the whole unit? Also, is there any advantage to buying ...

Re: How to: 2000+ radio light fix tutorial (45pics)

First of all, this tutorial is the bee's knees. Thank you Harofreak, for writing and posting this. I might have shipped the radio to you, but I had just completed the job when you posted the price for that.

bradb76: I did install the 29 cent lights, and they are plenty bright. They are rated for 10 ...

Re: Good News on Key Fob Programming 2001-2005

A quick follow up regarding my earlier posts. I did purchase used key fobs and module from Haro freak. The part number was different than the original part number, but the module and fobs worked perfectly the first time. I highly recommend this option. I was unable to determine why the programmer ...

Re: 2002 Bonneville - cranks but no spark

I had an intermittent start problem in my 89 Bonneville. I didn't go so far as to switch sensors on it, but I did put in seafoam with some positive results. The seafoam was a complete red herring; what I needed was new spark plug wires. If you can get your car running somewhere it's dark, take a ...

Re: Alternator Bolt Breaks

If one of the pulleys on your belt is riding on a bent shaft, it will put a pulse load on the on all the other pulleys. Then the weakest mount will break. This happened to me in my first car. It sounds like the shaft on the water pump is slightly bent. Did you put in a used water pump?

It's also ...

I'm trying here... BTW, the orange wire has 12 volts more than any of the other 3. Thanks in advance.

Re: Good News on Key Fob Programming 2001-2005

I like Harofreak's option, but I am already invested in the fob programmer. My trouble is, it seems the remote receiver is not talking to the drivers door module(?) or whatever computer is in charge of unlocking the doors. I have tried 3 wireless receivers: the one I bought with the car and two from ...
