Re: Water leaking into blower motor?

The intake for the system is at the base of the windshield on the passenger side. There should be a screen over the intake to keep leaves and such from getting in. If the screen is broken and tree droppings are getting in, it's possible that it's clogged the drains around this intake that are meant ...

Re: End of the road

Sorry to hear about your loss. Glad no one was injured.
I just bought my 2001 SSEi with 150k from a dealer for $2,000. They are getting pretty reasonable for what they offer.
If I would of known what I know now before looking, I'm not sure I would of bought this. This one was neglected a little and ...

Re: Water leaking into blower motor?

Do you get a sweet smell when you turn on your HVAC system? Or a oily residue on your windshield when you use the defrost? Generally moisture in the ducts is due to either clogged A/C evaporator drains or a leaking heater core. The sweet smell and/or oily residue would point to the latter. There is ...

Water leaking into blower motor?

I have a 2001 SSEi that has water problems. I thought it was the sunroof but it still leaks.
The last couple days we got a ton of rain and while driving I could hear water running. I pinpointed it to the blower motor. When the fan is off, no water sound. When the fan was on, you can hear the water ...

Re: My 2001 SSEi

Alright guys. I spent Saturday taking that cheap stereo out and putting in a new Pioneer double din stereo.
I went with the FHX-720BT because I felt like it was the best stereo in the $100 range.
It has some pretty cool features that I didn't know about until I installed.
It has a Pandora Mode ...

Re: ELM327 WIFI Software

Which one and where did you get it from? 2002 Bonny, bought a total of 4 of them from China, 2 different vendors, same garbage. All hooks up but the ECU isn't communicating to torque. I've read there's so many counterfeit one's it's not funny. I use Aliexpress because it's 100% covered. I'm tired ...

Re: Head unit install question

The sound that my stereo is making is a really loud screeching type sound that is not affected by how loud or soft i turn the volume-it is always loud and it comes out of only the front left and rear door speakers. I tried different grounds to no success. :banghead: maybe it has something to do ...

Re: My 2001 SSEi

What brand of fog lights did you use? I like them!

I bought some cheapies from Amazon. I usually go with JDM ASTARs but I didn't want to drop $30 on fog lights.
Here is the exact set I bought . Very similar to the JDMs imo.
Hoping to get a set of Philips 9012 HIR2 soon. Winter = more night ...

Re: Head unit install question

good news and bad - good- the new head unit powers on and makes sound. Bad- there is a high pitch static in the front left and the small rear door speakers...i tried rewiring the front left speaker wires and got the same result. I do have an antenna adapter which is hooked up so it dont think it is ...

Re: My 2001 SSEi

I was able to install the LED fog lights and stereo over the weekend. I still need to mess with the mounting of the stereo bracket. I read someone was able to reuse the stock radio clips so I'll have to try that.

Re: New Owner with a problem

I checked the HVAC controls connection and everything looked fine. Visually inspected the squirrel cage and it looked fine.
The next step would be remove the blower motor and see if anything is clogging the vents.

I did notice the rear vents blow air and my feet get pretty warm. So it's getting ...

Re: Head unit install question

When splicing into the cig lighter do you need to splice into the positive and the negative?

No, only the red wire. All I did was cut it, put those ends together, and threw a butt connector on it then ran a wire from that to the radio harness.
Check your fuses and report back. If you followed my ...

I think that one is for a powered antenna and should work as a remote wire.

Re: How to install aftermarket stereo using GM07B harness

Thanks Carl! I appreciate the feedback and the VERY helpful followup of things to note.

I really like your way of hooking into the IGN. I will probably switch over to that when I install my subwoofers and amp. I'd just feel better about it knowing it's shutting off when I open the door :2thumbup ...

Re: Head unit install question

I'm guessing the old interface doesn't send power down the A3 pin to power on the amplifier.

How to install aftermarket stereo using GM07B harness

Okay guys, so my stock radio had a bulb going out so I thought that was enough to justify buying a new stereo. I actually just wanted to have Bluetooth, or at least an AUX input.
I found a cheaper stereo for $35 with Bluetooth AND decent reviews.
After looking at a few different wiring harnesses ...

Re: My 2001 SSEi

The "delay" knob next to the HUD controls is the "Twilight Sentinel". Basically it controls how long the headlights stay on after you exit the car. It can be set for up to 3 minutes or it can be turned off.
Also, if you figure out that "Service Stability System" message let me know. Mine comes on ...
