I guess you didn't read the post fully. I said the engine had ALSO A MILD KNOCK. Which means the engine is going to need REPLACING. So again, as in my previous post, I hope some one has an to donate an engine.

I just picked up a bonneville and the console looks like it is peeling. How is that dealt with? I would really like it to have a clean look. Can you use plastidip on it or should I just use regular paint. I am hoping to get it to look like it did when it was new.

You could possibly add on the steering wheel buttons to your aftermarket stereo as well. The stereo shop offered it to me but I figured I could live without.

Also, I believe I still have my factory head unit if you are interested. I'll check when I get home to see if it is still in the garage ...

Yup, definitely valve cover gaskets. The supercharged motors also have the same issues, and it would be good to put in the updated aluminum lower intake gaskets. They now also make aluminum coolant elbows as well.
