econobox surprise
I'm still amazed how you do all that you do and make it sound routine like you are just changing spark plugs. Like Mr. T from Rocky said, "I pity the fool that pulls up next to this econobox in their fast car and gets a surprise from your car's performance" (well he would have said this:)

Matt: glad to learn you solved the mysterious gas tank leak. That must have been a frustrating pain in the but for you. Did I read correctly that you drove the car to Mexico? Ren

compendium....hmmm....Matt, you're the only engineer I know that uses 50 cent words not to mention building a budget car rocket ship. This will be one fun ride. An adult go cart:)

My new car, something you don't see everyday
I got this 1956 Austin FX3 London taxicab from my neighbor as payment for painting, etc. It wasn't something I wanted so I'm flipping it. It's amazing how solid it is and all the little trim bits are there. That's the luggage compartment where we would normally have a driver's seat. It's all factory ...

Re: 99 Montana 3800 swap project
but she runs ok?
My neighbor traded me a 1957 Austin FX3 London taxicab for work I did for him. It's cool but I want to sell it.

Hey Matt: What, no Montana updates? How's it running? I can't believe you have re-engineered something on it. Or is another project got your attention?

Re: 99 Montana 3800 swap project
Yup Matt, it's been fun to read your posts and see how you have agonized over the smallest detail in order to make an improvement. Just curious, is there a group of co-workers that share your level of interest and actually get their hands greasy, cut and otherwise "non-engineer" clean looking? If ...

Suffering through a pinched neck nerve the last few weeks which cause sleepless nights. Wish I lived near you so I could come over and help you as you seem to not sleep as well. Amazing stuff Matt!!!

Ingenious home made alignment method. And you dummied down the explanation so even I could grasp most of the process you went through. You must be seeing the finish by now.

Re: 1992 toro engine cutout followed by no start problem sol
Thanks Matt. that's the first thing I tried after realizing it was the maf. I would have saved myself a lot of hassle had I done that early on. Now I have to clean the black crud from my chrome exhaust tips.

1992 toro engine cutout followed by no start problem solved
Driving along then the engine cuts out. Starts right back up and off I go. Next morning, take off for a 20 mile highway journey with no problem, park the car, get my stuff then try to start my car. It starts but immediately shuts off. I call for a tow truck and while waiting the car started and ran ...

Re: Fixing a Golf Ball Dent
Yup, I agree with everyone's comments. Faster, cheaper and original paint kept intact. It cost me $150 whereas body shops wanted about $700 and to keep the car for 5 days.

Fixing a Golf Ball Dent
This happened while I was visiting a friend that lives on a golf course:

I didn't really want to mess with a traditional body shop so I took a chance with paintless dent repair. It's not perfect but it's pretty darn good. At ...

56 hours on a part. Wow. how did you keep the printer filled with the print material? Can a print job be stopped then restarted at the stop point at a later time?

Good thing you kept the explanation of the 3d printing issues simple because I barely understood what you were writing. Nice weld job too. Also, that interior looks really well kept.

95nasta: yeah, I know. I just wish they were 18s. A red car screams chrome wheels to me. I say make your car the way you want it. Nice work you did on the hood cutting out the rust and rebuilding it. I can only admire people like you and Matt for what you guys can do to your cars. pretty cool.
