Re: Radiator fans stopped working
Seemed like the fans were working, and then the heater hose elbows went out, so I replaced those, did a flush and now it seems the car is running great!

Re: Radiator fans stopped working
underneath the thermostat is the coolant temperature plug. If you unplug it, the electric fans should turn on automatically by default. If they do not, then you need to find out why. You should be getting 12v at the fan with the coolant sensor unplugged. If the A/C works, turning that on MAX should ...

Re: Radiator fans stopped working
hi, did you check the fuse and relays for the fans?
also, if you unplug the coolant temp sender under thermostat housing, the fans should trip on as fail-safe
I seem to be a little lost. I assume my fuse box will tell me which relays/fuses are for the fans. But I'm unsure of any electrical ...

Radiator fans stopped working
I tried researching this here and on google but I couldn't find anything...
On my '01 i've been having overheating problems here and there relating to a bad water pump, too little coolant, too little oil, etc. I've gotten to the point where I've replaced the water pump, thermostat, radiator, fans ...

Re: '01 Won't stop overheating
Hey guys, thanks for all the replies! I think I found the problem. A couple days ago my belt started squeaking. Didn't think much of it, especially because it would get wet from the pressure leak. Well yesterday I was commuting back from work and my car starts smoking and turns off on me. Belt ...

Are you now using just water, rather than 50% antifreeze?
The fans come on a little over 200, every time. And I used to use antifreeze, like most of this year I did, but the last few weeks I've been using water, because i can't afford $40+ a week for antifreeze

'01 Won't stop overheating
About a month ago out of being lazy I forgot to checking my very slow oil burn and my car ran out of oil to the point the oil light turned on, I pulled over immediately added oil, and noticed it was overheating too. (I've had problems in the past with it running out). I added coolant and was on my ...

Re: HUD Question, OBDI, OBII, etc.?
I'm assuming you're buying one of those aftermarket ones that sits up on the dash? Both your cars should be OBD-II. 96 and newer mandated OBD-II by the Federal Gov't. Before 96 was a *shoot*, with everyone doing their own thing.

HUD Question, OBDI, OBII, etc.?
Hey I'm trying to buy a HUD for my car, it's a 2001 non-SC, does anyone know anything about the type of connection the Bonnie has? I also have a '96 3000gt that I'd like it to use.
Mostly, I don't know anything about computers in cars, is the OBDI just '90 and older or something? Or are all the ...

Re: 2001, touched a wire wrong, now have no more interior li
I saw there was one that was labeled interior lamp, that was a 10 amp, but then there was another labeled the same thing that was on of the large square fuses, not sure if you can check those? but I'll take a look at itmikeluscher159 wrote:It's a blue 10 amp fuse in the panel under the back seat

2001, touched a wire wrong, now have no more interior lights
So I replacing my driver's visor, it was impossible to unplug the visor so i ended up snipping it. Once I snipped it, it sparked and all of the interiors lights (lamps, door lights, etc. nothing vital) died. I was wondering where to start with this, is it just a fuse? or did I blow out the bulbs? or ...

Skis in '01 Bonnie?
Has anyone put skis in this car? Do they fit? Does the seat fold down? Or do I need to get a roof rack? Any recommendations on racks?

Re: '01 6th Cyl Misfiring?
Replaced the plug and wire, it's running better but still rough... Gonna replace the fuel filter and air filter then see what's up. Any suggestions?

Re: '01 6th Cyl Misfiring?
Check ignition before fueling. It's easier. With the motor cold, feel around behind it to find where the plug wire is going. Then after you take it off the plug, find the spark plug with your hand and put the socket on it. You have to "see" with your hands to do plugs on the back of a 3800.

Re: '01 6th Cyl Misfiring?
It sounds like you might get in over your head. Its nearly impossible to tell a fuel system problem miss from an ignition problem miss. I suggest calling a good shop and asking for help or perhaps a craigslist Mechanic. My 01 cyl 6 was missing more and more. I replaced "EVERYTHING" thinking it was ...
