I couldn't decide if this was "general chat" or "mechanical problem" worthy so I went with my instinct. I was browsing eBay as I'm 16 and don't want to shell out $40 for a new fuel level sender thing that comes from the SUVs. I found this one: http://m.ebay.com/itm/360811052509?nav=SEARCH

Re: Anyone a Member over on the Aurora Club
I ha doubts it would be out there as a result of such little demand, however, you never know until you look. So the Aurora unit would dock n lock right into the Bonneville minus having to locate a place for the antenna?

Re: Anyone a Member over on the Aurora Club
Well, in the searching I've done I can't find the file anywhere. That's not to say it isn't out there, but I'll keep looking. Not to derail the focus of the post too much, but has anyone tried to install the Aurora navigation system on a 2000+ Bonneville?

Re: Anyone a Member over on the Aurora Club
As a piece of advice from the younger generation you could see if you could find it available as a torrent download and burn the image to a dvd. I'll see if I can't find one.

Re: Battery heater help?
The lowest I've had to operate the car this winter in was -7F. It started slow but fine. No block or battery heater and parked outside.

Re: Polishing Wheels
We were very careful. For winter maintenance since it has been too cold for the car wash up here lately I will just rub them down with some snow. It works decently to keep the salt at bay. Just remember to clean the snow off the inside of the wheel or you'll be hopping like crazy going down the ...

Re: Scandinavian Flick, anyone else tried?
Mine's an SLE, so I don't believe I have stability control. I gave it the E-Brake treatment today, it works every time if the swedespeed method fails.

Scandinavian Flick, anyone else tried?
Living in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, I grew up dreaming about that moment when I got my first car and drove my first winter. For me, that is this year. After a bit of frustration, I finally heard about this technique and decided to give it a try. Sure enough, the good old flick works on my car ...

Re: Polishing Wheels
I have some pictures of how mine came out, absolutely majestic, like pretty much everybody else's on this forum. I think these are some of the best looking factory wheels.

Re: Issue with switching back to stock mount..Advice.
Thanks, I'll take that into consideration. I'll let everyone know if I do it, but it may not be until the weather in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan is conducive to garage work!

Re: Issue with switching back to stock mount..Advice.
Alright, thanks to all. Looks like I'm stuck. I have a perfectly good stock mount, just looks like I'm not switching back to it. It's good to know I'm not beating the car to hard, since I didn't tear through the stocker.

Issue with switching back to stock mount..Advice.
So, I have had my hockey puck mount for several months now. I love the shift feel, etcetera, however at the end of the day the Bonneville is a luxury car. I feel like I've ruined that effect, and want to go back to stock. Shouldn't be an issue with a 2001 SLE. It seems I only hear of torn mounts on ...

Re: New from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan
Makes sense. It's probably just something small and unimportant. It starts perfect in 10-40 degrees F. Almost can't get my wrist off the starter fast enough haha. I have done 2 coil packs (I know stuff like that you do it all, but I don't have that money to invest in something still working). Could ...

Re: New from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan
I understand more now, thanks a lot! How does this affect the car's starting performance, though? Theoretically if it was doing it's job the PCM would make adjustments to the air/fuel mix for consistent starting? Or am I an ignorant rookie?

It'll eat through the pump system of a spray bottle rather quickly, we found that out.

Re: Polishing Wheels
1tinindian, is it better than the turtle wax product I mentioned? Obviously my friend who's dad owns a tractor store and I have an advantage with access to Miric Acid (not sure if that's spelled right). That stuff is amazing.

Re: New from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan
I searched it lightly. So it's when the engine bay inevitably fills with heat, correct? I have noticed the same extreme power difference between when it's almost 0 degrees F like today and when it's 90 degrees in the summer.

Re: New from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan
My mom callls it that. How cool. Did you happen to see that 2003 Aurora for sale in the Copper Country I believe? I wanted it in the worst way. 120k and $3,500. I'd be screwed if the head bolts pulled however. Are there any posts on this heatsoak?

Re: New from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan
Thanks to all. I didn't realize how many people started young on here. Anybody have the intermittent start quality issue? In summer it is vile and unpredictable. It could crank three seconds or fire off right away. In winter when the car is warm it will fire off with the flick of a wrist, but when ...

Re: Polishing Wheels
Hopefully this thread helps other newcomers not fall into the improper polish trap I did. Unfortunately, I can't say the same about Turtle Wax's Scratch and Swirl remover.
