I recently have been having blower motor issues and I went to go take it out to figure out which one I needed to replace it with ... Come to find out that it's not the original one that was in there... had been replaced before... can anyone tell me or show me a picture of the original one that supposed to go in is it the silver one or the black one

What problems are you having?
Does the one in there right now physically fit right?

no when I took it out and looked up in there it looked like it was actually grinding along ( I really don't know what it's called )but there was a chunk missing where you could tell it was grinding on the inner housing

Blower motor design changed in 2002. 2000-2001 had a different style, bigger.

Not sure if that helps you at all, maybe when you search for a new one. I got mine off Rock Auto.

Yeah that's where I find most the things I need I found the unit thats black without a cooling tube and another unit that says its silver with the cooling tube...but the one I currently have in is the black one that says made in Korea so I know it's not the original one that went in there...that and it was grinding against the housing

You just need to click the image code to copy it, then paste it. Don't press the img button.

Looks like the wrong motor type was used.

Gotcha yeah the previous owner was a DIY kinda person I guess ..but didn't know what kind to get so they probably just bought the cheapest... my local ac delco dealer has one for a dollar more than rock auto so I'll probably get it there so I don't have to wait for delivery

Bad assumption.

If you're considering buying an American-made Delco unit, think again. Mine said "Made in USA" on the Delco box, and the motor itself had a sticker saying made in vietnam. The original unit was made in, I believe, Korea (had a sticker on it stating so). Certainly something is amiss with your setup, since the squirrel cage is hitting the duct, and maybe it has been replaced - but being made in Asia doesn't mean it's not original equipment. And buying AC Delco does not mean made in USA!! (That's apparently where the boxes or box labels are made).

Edit - I'm not saying stay away from Delco, just that thinking you're buying 'Merican is a fallacy. If you can get the Delco unit for a buck more than Rock Auto or Amazon, do it. If you do get an AC Delco blower and it does have a Made in USA sticker on it, I'd like to know. It's quite possible :ripped:
