Working on the Mutt project, swapped the 05 GXP dash harness to the 04 SLE dash, went to hook it all up and realized that the GXP dash harness has some wires extra and some missing compared to the SLE harness. Any chance someone could post up the pinout information for both main dash plugs for both cars? I really want the HUD to work, I would hate to have come this far to have to turn around and just run the SLE harness with no HUD :(

Are you referring to the harness connector C200 that has 40 cavities and is located next to the steering column connector. The 2004 shop manual shows what wires are used in this harness but the presence or absence of certain wires depends on what options the car is equipped with. If this is the diagram you need, let me know and I'll post a scan.

Yea I need that one as well as the one on the top passenger side of the dash.

As for options, the 05 GXP was loaded with everything except the CD changer, as far as I know it has all other options. The 04 SLE has dual zone climate control, steering wheel controls, no moonroof, no XM, no CD changer, not sure what all options were available on the SLE...

I know you could get XM on the SLEs. Mine has it.

After some quick looking around it looks like the biggest difference between the two harnesses I have is in the stereo. The only parts that relates to the heads up display (RPO UV6) are both on connector C200, A8 - pink wire - 14 volt reference and D4 - bare - ground, both of which are not used without heads up display. I will get my meter on it tomorrow but my initial findings / suspicions / thoughts are that the both go to the stereo, I see a bare wire and a pink wire there in the GXP harness but not in the SLE harness.

Can these circuits be traced out to find out exactly where they go in the body harness? A8 circuit 608 and D4 circuit 514 on connector C200? If not it will be time to break out the meter I guess

Testing confirms that those two additional wires do go to the stereo head unit. Also, three of the four speaker outs are different color wires in the dash harness but go to and from the same spots in the connectors C200 and the head unit connector. The right front speaker however is different, with the Monsoon system (and likely the Bose as well) the low output goes to C200, which is under the steering column, without the amplified system, the speaker output for the right front goes to connector C201 which is on the top passenger side of the dash. I am not installing the amplified system so I have to get output to C201 for the right front speaker to connect to the SLE body harness, I will likely remove the wires from the SLE dash harness and install them in the GXP dash harness.
