I bought the car even though it has small nicks all over the from bumper that look like someone drove it right behind a gravel truck or something to that effect. I tried some of that cream you use for fine scratches but it didn't do any good. Wondering if anyone knows of something stronger?! I don't want to have to pay for it to be repainted since it's on the front part of the hood also but if it comes down to it that's what I'll have to do. =(

Go happy with touch-up paint or having it repainted are your only real options. If the paint is missing, there are no magical creams or polishes that are going to bring it back.

Yeah touch up paint isn't an option. It covers the entire front bumper, I'd need a paint brush or a roller! lol Well I'll have to wait until I get the money together for that after everything is perfect mechanically! Thx!

Another option is a full-on bra...

I am a few hour drive from you, but if you wanted to have a mini meet, we could have a few other local members over for a weekend and do some buffing on it. It wouldn't fix it by any means, but it will make it look a little better.

I know exactly what you mean also by sandblasted. My wife's '03 SSEi is the same way

I know what you mean too. My black 2000 SSEi was terribly sandblasted. The front end and rear door corners were really badly chipped up. Just what happens after 8 years on the road.

Yeah true, I wased it yesterday and it looked like the rear door corners were still dirty and I was frustrated bc I could have sworn I scrubbed the crap out of the car. I walked up and it was the same deal at the front end. It's so bad tho. I said something at the dealership & my sales guy said he'd have them try to buff it out, didn't do anything for it.

It's going to require a re-paint. I got lucky, kind of. I had a nasty scratch on my hood, and then my mom backed into my car, so parents + insurance paid for fresh paint on my hood and fenders, and a new and painted bumper.

I'd suggest that you take a picture of the problem and post it so Ryan (Crash) can take a look. It should give him an idea as to whether or not it's something he can at least make decent. He and his wife hosted the Michigan meet about a month ago that included polishing the vehicles. You can check out the thread here to see some of the work that he and Tom (95SLE) did.

This shows what he can do with a headlight.

Yeah, my front bumper is pretty bad, too. I've tried everything imaginable - when I first got it, I thought it was just a bunch of bugs splattered on it (that's kind of the look of the pattern of chips), but later found out it was damage, like you said, that looked like it was driven behind a gravel truck.

Even Ryan at the Michigan meet was pretty shocked at it. For me, there's not much I can do except for a complete repaint, but like Archon said, Ryan (crash93ssei), might have something up his sleeve that'll at least make it look better.
