Ive done rear disc brakes on my honda ,with no problems,as far as my Bonneville goes is the job about the same as to what i can expect?

Never done a Honda's brakes, but they are about the same as the fronts except you need to twist the caliper piston in instead of just pushing.

good to know,thank you! yea a honda is two 14mm bolts ,then pull off caliper,and hondas rear pistons twist in as well. usualy takes more time jacking the car up and removing tire than doing pad replacement.....

Other thing is there is only one bolt from the outside, the top "bolt" is a stud the caliper is slid over, you need to pivot it up and slide it off. Be sure to clean, inspect and lube everything well.

Also, I'd highly recommend a "hardware kit" with new bolts and slides. It guarantees the caliper is going to work well in the future, and they're like $15 a side.

I really appreciate the advice,your completely right. Thats one of the things i had to do on my honda was replace the bolts after one broke one day. had i done the bolts when i did the brakes the first time i would nt have had that happen. Great advice ,im def going to do the whole thing ,not just the pads.Brakes is one thing you NEVER want to skimp on!!

Is that the bolt you mentioned? Do you know what size it is by chance?

It's actually the other one, listed as "pin bolt" and "pin sleeve", as they make a "pin". The bolt goes into the bracket and holds the slide on and the caliper slips on over it. A hardware kit would have both of them along with the boots, sleeves, etc.

Well it aparently is the fronts not the backs,so i took the rear pads back and exchanged them for the fronts.

ok ,well i took one of the front wheels off and to my surprise the front one i looked at looked good too? im stumped cause when i stop i sometimes here this deep whrrrrring sound which i thought sounded like pads on the verge of being worn down to the bone?????? i also have noticed my e brake doesnt seem to have much of a grip when engaged,i think maybe it just needs adjusted? any ideas guys?

no vibration,and since i was poking around in the front brakes,loosened the bolts and wiggled the calipers ,since then it has stopped . now its just a light squeel.....
