Has anyone had success with gluing the gear that cracks inside the HVAC blend door actuator on top of the HVAC box?

I believe mine is slipping and I'm looking for an inexpensive fix. It's on the 1998 leSabre.

Every one that I have disected had a stripped gear, not cracked? I don't think they can be repaired?

The few that I have seen were cracked.

They are junk, get a new one.

Yeah, I wouldn't bother trying. It won't operate correctly.

I'll agree. All cracked from what I've seen (and 2 of my own, plus 2 others I've changed here). Junk it, in the time it would take you to repair it, you'd have the car running with a new one or one from a wrecker.

You can get a Brand new actuator from Rock Auto for $40ish....

On every one I have seen he gear was Cracked... I have yet to see one that was stripped

The stripped ones I have seen were on chevy trucks, so my statement really does not apply to these cars.

I think iirc there was a difference between the truck Actuator and the car actuator... The funny part was that the actuator in my Trans Sport crossed over to the chevy Trucks...LOL..

From what we have seen on the C & H Body actuator the center portion of the gear was pressed into the gear and the gear actually stretched, in some cases over time the gear would simply crack due to the pressures..

Mine made some really not so pretty noises when it failed...LMAO... It was a rainy day I got cooked out of the car... :-#

ha ha

Ha, yeah mine made some nasty noises when it failed too, and a long time before that.

At random intervals I'd hear a CREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAK coming from behind the dash. It was loud enough to interrupt a conversation.

And then one day I was driving down the road, and I couldn't figure out why I felt like I was on fire...the vents were blowing cold air. Then I leaned over and it was like a volcano on the passenger's side. Actuator time.
