I've had this pop up on the DIC now and again since ownership. But for the last month or so it has stuck on. It started to only happen when I hit a bump, or something on the road. And over the course of a week it became more frequent until now where it comes on everytime the car is started. TC no longer works, ABS light is on, and for the first week or so of this ABS seemed to activate randomly for a second or two at a time, whether I was on the brake pedal or not. I'd see the Low Trac light come on when I was clearly not spinning (Stopped or coasting at highway speeds) But the Low Trac light and ABS hasn't come on at all for a good few weeks now. I did want to see how the car would act if I slammed on the brakes just in case and seems that only my left front locks up, from 60mph.

I double checked the WSS connections to all be plugged in and cleaned, but that made no difference. I've had a friend with an older OTC scanner plug up to the car and he couldn't pull up any codes. However all four wheel speed sensors read out 255 km/h while the car was parked. Kyle (allmachtige) hooked up to the car with HP Tuners while I was in Michigan and we didn't find any codes then either.

I thought a scanner would be able to help but since they aren't picking up on anything I don't know where to start and looking for other opinions, other than maybe trying to see if a dealership would be able to see more than a typical scanner/HP Tuners. I don't think this is the steering position sensor, or the WSS's either. Could it be the ABS module or is that totally separate from the stability system? Any other idea's? I replaced the front two HUB's with Timken's about a year ago. AFAIK the rears are stock. I really don't want, nor can I afford to go spending $100-$200 on something that won't cure this.

I believe the stability system works by actuating individual brakes, using the ABS. I would be inclined to take it to a dealership and have them throw a tech 2 on the car to diagnose the issue for sure. I think that would average $40-$50.

Crap, you should have taken my old rear hubs during the MI meet, just so you can see if you could rule them out. They still had good WSS, far as I knew.

With every restart cycle of my car I still get the periodic low traction notification when moving at speed (never stopped) and sometimes I can feel the stability system nudge the car as it brakes the one wheel. After anywhere from 1 to 45-60 minutes I will get the "Service Stability System" message. Oddly enough this doesn't disable the Stabillitrak completely, as I was still able to get the system to kick in when trying to have some fun in winter.

It sounds like the SWPS to me, and I have a used sensor from Andrew lying around that I need to put in.
