I mentioned the outgassing and accordian because I've heard these things here many times. It's odd to hear the differing opinion to the common question. Although it would seem that getting the air as laminar as possible to stop velocity interuptions before the screen would be the way to go. How did ...

Sounds like there's a leak. Dex is known to oatmeal up once it's introduced to air. Most likely there's a leak that led to air in the system. It'll probably take 3-4 good flushes and a couple weeks of running the car to get all the oat out.

Won't that pvc outgas as mentioned in other threads and the accordian tube will cause non-laminar flow?

This is only my opinion and not trying to start anything here, but I'm more apt to listen to experts that rebuild and race their transmissions vs someone who works on mill machines when it comes to cooling and it's effects on a transmission of a car. Any facts about the 130F fluid temps or manufactu...

210k? IMO, 4t60e transmissions have between a 150k-200k mile lifespan, and I think it might be going. If you don't have the money now to fix it, I'd stay off the go-pedal and buy an adjustable tranny modulator and set that thing to high. Also, DON'T flush the transmission, no matter what anyone els...

Overcooling is possible. Intense suggested to me that I not abuse the trans until operating temp of about 160F was achieved. Too cold is too cold and it sounds like you may have too large of a cooler or a bypassed radiator cooler/preheater. A 4T65 runs a lot cooler than it's hot headed 4T60 predeces...

Opinions vary about the greatness of the 4T65's predecessor the 4T60.

The trans was a pretty recent rebuild.

I have 95, 97, 98 and 99 firewall connectors mapped out by cavity for the B'ville if you decide to use one of those engine harnesses. Knowing now what I didn't know then, a 96-97 pcm while convenient for Brad's tuner is not what I would aim to use. The data speed of the 98+ is well worth adding the ...

One plug isn't enough. Many have seen detonation on only one or two cylinders, I know it's cold and still recommend pulling all six.

The torque converter let go along with clutches and a few other internals. It would appear the main failure was TC related.

At $1100 it would have to be in 100% rust free perfect shape. Being that you save on labor and the typical L36 in my parts runs about $500 (I would always want a warranty on an L36), You'd be into the ar for $1,700 after motor install and misc things like oil and coolant if you dont' pull the upper ...

That would be pulley #9 on the Dayco website picture. To swap that pulley you need to put a jack under the oil pan with a piece of wood for cushioning and then remove the passenger side engine mount. This is done by removing the body side mount, then the motor side (E torx bits to remove the studs f...

It will take a certain amount of mileage/time to relearn the high octance table. Another consideration is that since you were running low octane fuel and most likely getting your share of KR, the plugs may have damage from the predetonation. My suggestion would be to pull the plugs and inspect/repla...

Don.. if you grab a flight, there's an L67 drivetrain sitting in my garage that could be driven to Florida. It's ready to go with new UIM, LIM and VC gaskets. Instead of ordering that L36 UIM, I'd ask that you reconsider the L26 upper. It's an easy thing to add the TB spacer in and be done. You are ...

Doing some work and need to get pics up. The carpet in the blue one is pretty shot along with three of the four window regulators. Anyone looking for a drivetrain drop out?
