You may be better off keeping the impala pcm and importing the drivetrain from an L67/HD trans vehicle. There may be enough differences in the areas of your concern that the Regal pcm is possibly not going to make the various other modules happy. |

Start off by checking to ensure the bare wires aren't arching out on anything metal they might be laying on. This may be easier at night, simply start the car and look for the light show. |

You only have to disconnect the accessory belt and it would be wise to disconnect the negative battery cable. You can keep the belt mainly in place if you untension it and then slide just if off the alternator. Replace and sit it back on and retension.
Likely there's a write up in techinfo |

Hi everyone, happy to stop in and share a love of 3800 powered cars with you. I have a 2000 Regal GS that is NA powered, has a few handling and appearance mods done to it. Been known to work on a car or two, with the Regal though, I've concentrated more on W bodies lately. I did own a 97 Bonneville ... |

Be careful when you do put the metal on. Some of them protrude a bit further than the plastic and this can make belt replacement a bit tougher by reducing the clearance between the pulley and mount for the belt to slide past. |

Glad to hear you have had good results and found the best for your application. I've done my research and will use what the majority of people are currently using because it works best based on research done and data I have logged in comparative tests. It checked out as safe for all the seals and o-... |

Sherwin Williams sales guy Dave mentioned most folks have put Toluene on the back burner for a better alternative. Another "ene" sold at Sherwin's that is easier to mix, better and more consistent result. |

Your ALM may have gotten confused. On the 97 you can reset your adaptive lamp monitor. Find someone with the FSM's for the correct procedure. Sorry, I don't remember how it is done specifically. All I do remember is it has to do with disconnecting the battery and using the parking lamp circuit. |

Like Tom, I have never experienced slip on any of my SC belts. Now..if you want to talk about accessory belt slip, I have it. Why...about 25% crank wrap, a motor that revs in an instant and either a stretched belt or a worn tensioner. Might also have to do with the new belt sitting on the shelf and ... |
