Year and Trim: 2000 Pontiac Bonneville SSEI.
Considering Upgrading my 2000 Bonneville. If i do upgrade, I plan on keeping it the rest of it's life. As of now it is completely stock. It has 105,000 miles. Just got the lower intake gasket done. I have about $2,000 to spend on upgrades with labor. I'd really like to get over 300 horse. I've seen some performance packages on ZZP, Intense, and I just want to get the best bang (most HP) for my buck. Definitely want an exhaust system as well. Any suggestions or ideas? Thank you all!

I'm not sure I know exactly what you're looking for. $2000 should buy a lot of HP,but your 300 hp goal seems low for that cache. Somebody shoot me down but I think the 00+'s are pushing that already.

Burnt Bonny.

Note if you pull the injectors to obserbe fuel delivery...make sure you leave the plugs in and disconnect the ign. Believe me

A lot more than $2000 has only gotten me 340whp. Stock is about 190whp. 240 rated at the crank.

The best combo in my opinion is going to be: 1.9:1 rockers/105# springs, speed daddy headers, fenderwell intake, NFL tr6 plugs, 180* thermostat (get a performance one, intense sells mptorad I believe and I like them), a 3.4" pulley and a good tune. This ought to get you over 300hp at the crank and leave.you money.left over.

I have Tp quit posting from this stupid phone. I can't even fix all these typos.

Thanks for the info. What's all done to your car? 340 would be ideal. But funds are limited. I've thought
About just buying a turbo kit for it as well. Ideas?

A turbo with a few supporting mods would be a cheaper way to make that power.

For my mods, take a look at my "dyno time" thread.

thats a good combo... imo i dont see a point in putting a turbo in a alrdy supercharged car... i could see it in a N/A car.. but ported manifolds and all those mods would be a very very quick bonneville. if it wasnt for 70 miles a day on mine right now.. i would be doing that stuff to mine . and as for the exhaust.. headers and a Cat is all thats needed because the cat back isnt the restrictive point unless its for sound.. then i say go for it.. alot of ppl on here have done it and super 44s sound the best imo, also another viable option is the gen V swap.

Alright thank you for all the good info! Will post updates and pics if I decide to upgrade it. If not, a GTO should be next!

A G8 GXP would be the best but money isn't there for that lol.

Best bang for your buck in the long run is to turbo.

WHats with the G8 obsession? GTO is a WAY better performance value.

IMO, if youre thinking about different cars already, dont bother wasting money on modding a bonneville. Just get something youll be happy shoveling cash into.

Cam, valve springs, ported cylinders, intake and exhaust ports, performance pistons, small pulley, cold air intake, modded pcm, high flow cat, bigger injectors, shift kit, N02 dry shot. Sound about right?

New parts:
* Headers ($350 Speed daddy)
* Gen V Blower ($450 w/ install parts needed)
* ZZP S2 Intercooler ($1200 new) http://shop.zzperformance.com/store/p/1 ... ooler.aspx
* 3.1" pulley and tune ($400-500)

If you find them used then its even better $$!

My advice is to keep it stock. Not really worth spending $3 grand on a $5 grand car that will sell next year for $3 k
