I have a 2002 Bonneville and the aribag light came on. It appears to flash 7 times before coming on steady when I start the car.

I pulled the codes from the computer and the only code is B0101. This points to the EFS front crash sensor for the airbag but they want $100 to $170 for the part.

Before I invest that kind of money I would like to be able to determine if it is in fact the sensor and not the SDM module.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

That code is set when the SDM receives a NOK message from the EFS. That would seem to indicate that the SDM is working properly. So, the likely cause is the EFS, or associated wiring and connectors, although there are no guarantees.

You may want to send a private message to Andrew (Harofreak00) as he likely has a good used one. I believe he is currently on a short vacation, so it may be a few days before you get a response.

Thanks for confirming my diagnosis. I know the connectors look good and the SDM under the center console has never seen water, so I suspect it is the EFS sensor.

I replaced my front sensor and still was getting an error. Noticed I only get error when temperature is below 30. If I warm up the interior of the car and cycle the key the fault will go away. Replaced module under console an it fixed it.
