i could be possible what hit it was an car or truck with one of those hitch racks on it ... that would explain the damage perfectly

That sucks man, I have a rip in my rear bumper in the exact same spot, all the plastic is still there but it doesn't look nice.

Good luck on the new installation!

Looks good!! The tip is a nice addition! Does it sound any different than stock?

You're halfway through the repair process now!

Good to see you've got the exhaust problem solved. What brand muffler is that?

Good luck with the bumper replacement.

two estiamtes, one for bumper and exhuast was 1400 and just exhuast was $600, our deductible is 500, so i told my mom we could get this done for under $500 and not worry about premium hikes or anything

cost so far $70 parts
$60 labor
Toal: $130 - (370 left) ;)

Im sorry about what happened to you, it really sucks. Hopefully you can get her fixed up and she will be all ready to go.

My 93 had a new bumper when my dad backed into a tree forgetting to pump his breaks after servicing them, and the 96 got rear ended about 2 years back. Welcome to the 2nd rear bumper club!

If you give the estimates to the insurance company along with a police report they should cover it under your un/underinsured motorist insurance. I told my insurance company when my bumper was run into and gave them the estimate for $850 for new paint and bumper. They cut me a check for $350 to fix it myself. I used that to fix other things. My point is it should not effect your rates unless you have a crappy ins. co. or you get into accident frequently. My accident did not affect my rates at all and I was cited for it! (long stupid story) If in doubt, call your agent and ask them if it will affect your rates.

Wow, that damage was pretty bad. I'd be fuming! And I'd also be surprised if your insurance company increased your premium due to someone else hitting your parked car. I personally consider something like that to be vandalism, but I don't know if insurance companies would consider that covered under comprehensive rather than collision. And IMO comprehensive damages should never hike up your rates. You can't control whether or not someone vandalizes your car, or if a tree limb falls on it ( ), or even if some idiot smashes into it in a parking lot.
