Ok cool thanks, and then just add the plastic or rubber washers to reduce the virbation,

In the lin haro, it showed you use 3 nuts. 2 on the top it looks with a lock between, and one on the bottm

Ya that was from back in the day when I didn't know what I was doing.

When I did the mount on my SE, I used a 7" bolt with 1 nylon locking nut. There is no need for 2 nuts if you use a locking one.

Oh ok, I was just making sure. Ok so all I need is 3/8" by 7" bolt, 1 lock washer, couple normal washers, and 2 nylon nuts for one on top and one on bottom, and w.e else I want to put to reduce the vibration, which seems likes grommets.

If you are using a bolt, you only need 1 nut. If you are using a rod, you need 2 nuts.

What is favored? Rod or bolt? Should both be the same 3/8" by 7"?

Yes, a bolt.

If you do get an 8" bolt, make sure its threaded more than 1" or it won't work.

I went back to the double nut, after my "nylon locking" nut almost came off. It backed itself off more than 6 turns, but that was after more than 40,000 miles :eek2: with the double nut, no problem.
