Brought this car home Thursday, finally got a chance to fix a few minor things and give it a bit of a cleanup. Engine was washed the other day, then we hit the rest of the car with some turtle wax today. My 13 year old cousin was with me the whole 5 hours! I think it's going to need some paint, and a bit of bodywork where the rust is starting to poke through, but it's overall really nice shape.

Looks to be in good shape for a '93. Well worth $500, IMO.

I will take a stab at his Location. Ontario. Judging from the Plate on the one car, and the Metric speedo. *dang* good find for 500!

Ontario, yep. Cambridge. SE will be parted or sold outright, if the offer is good. Should part it for the club.

Have you found any trim pieces that can transfer to the new 93, or is that already taken care of? It looks like an awesome car, through and through. The coolest part of it all is how well preserved the steering wheel seems to be.

Greetings from another '93SSEi owner (I have two: Green for me, and a white one I am fixing for my wife) from Ontario!

Great score you have there. First thing, though: Is there any moisture inside the car? Under the rear floor mats? These cars are famous for having the sunroof drains come unplugged, thus dumping water in the interior. Both mine and my wife's car suffered from this. Easy fix, but it's a PITA! Check it out and let me know.

Great score!

Adam

EDIT: Wait a minute. I don't see a sunroof. I thought all SSEi's had a sunroof??

My SSEi doesn't have a sunroof either. Just an option, apparently.

Yeah, its a bummer that theres no sunroof, but maybe thats why the car stayed so nice. My next SSEi will have a sunroof, but I'm not buying another bonne till I can afford a 2000+. I dunno if you can see the rear floor in the pics, but apparently the mats have been there for awhile, coz the carpets are real clean under them. And underneath, theres light rust, no real deep set corrosion like in my SE. As far as trim, the cars are two different colors. The SE is gray. Body wise, the cars are also worlds apart. The SSei has doors that look like they have a knurled, or folded in lip to them. the grill is a wee bit different as well. I have struts in the SE with only about 15k on them, I don't think I can even use those! FE2 on the Ei.

The SSEi came with the following Brand New parts installed :
Front wheel bearings, 2x Outer tie rod ends, Driver Inner tie rod, 2x ball joints, 2x Calipers, Pads, Stabilizer end links Rear Shoes and wheel cylinderss.
Then these parts have been replaced with new/ good used parts in the last six months:
Drums, Gas tank, Gas filler neck, GM genuine spk plugs, AC Delco wires, Muffler and catalytic converter.
Then it had these parts Brand new in boxes: Both rear parking brake cables, strut mounts/bearings.

I think I got one heck of a deal.

Actually, the hood on the SE is in real great shape, and it doesnt have the huge scratch like the one on the ssei(Thank god for low resolutions to hide imperfections) You can BUY that one come springtime, if you'd like. I'll be letting it go cheap. 20$

The SSEi will be painted, sometime next year, depending how long it takes to save the money for it. One extra scratch won't cost much. I have a feeling that the car was apinted before, but they did stupid things, like for instance they sprayed over the back bumper. I will make sure that the bumper comes off next paintjob.
