Little update to give. Sold my 98' this morning then came home and started getting this one back together. Gave it a good wash and degreased the engine again, got most of the funk off of it. Installed my front cover off the 98 onto this one to cover up the dented hood/grille, hides it pretty good until I find a new hood. Also swept out the inside and gave it a quick shampooing then installed the center console back. All in all pretty happy with it, planning on getting the driver side rocker panel replaced next weekend weather permitting.

Looks good - I plan to replace the grey carpet in my '93 SSEi with new black carpet, so I will be gutting the interior too. What was the hardest part about the interior tear down?

Thanks
I'm going to be pulling the carpet out completely and hitting it at the car wash ultimately, just had to get everything together for the mean time as this has taken over daily duties. The front seats are probably the biggest issue as they're awkward moving around, a second pair of hands help but not completely necessary. Other than that its pretty straight forward.

I'm really happy to see one of these being saved.

Any pictures of the rot repair you did under the rear seat?

Haven't got to the rot underneath the seat yet, just have a towel stuffed under the seats so water isn't splashing directly in. :sadeyz:
Wish I could move a little faster on this stuff but life has thrown me a few curve balls in the past couple weeks, but I'll get there eventually lol. Ultimately I'm pretty happy with the progress so far and the amount of $$ I have in it.

Little update to give. Given the extremely cold weather we've been having I haven't done much to the far but normal oil changes but with it warming up I've been tinkering on it more. We did end up selling my sister-in-law our 01 SE and got my wife a 2005 GP GTP which she absolutely loves. Grab a few pictures today.

Spent this week changing both front wheel bearings which was a chore but definitely needed done. I've had my ABS/TC light one since I bought the car and assumed it was one of the hubs but after changing them both out (Moog) its still on and when scanned it shows no codes. Any ideas? I've got a spare ABS pump on my bench from my 98 I might try and swap in just to see. Its suppose to be warmer again next weekend so I'm going to tackle these rear shocks and sway bar bushings. Pics to follow.

Nice looking progress in the above pics!

If you know anyone with a TechII scanner, they can get you sorted out and figure out what is throwing the code.

Unfortunately I don't know anyone personally with a TechII scanner in Columbus. Might have to post of the GP forums and find someone close to me with one. Other than the ABS/TC lights car is running great. Put about 5k on it in the past 2 months. We're suppose to have a really nice weekend ahead of us so I'm hoping to get my rear shocks and sway bar bushings installed. Possibly the rocker panel welded in sunday, but we'll see how things go. The past 2 months everybody has needed something from me whether it be the family, wife, or work. Just finally getting caught up to where I can tinker again.

Spent this weekend replacing a rotted out brake line and installing some new rear shocks and sway bar bushings. Also replaced a few random bulbs that were burnt so no more tail light notification. Rides 100% better with the new ones compared to the stock ones with 203K.

They're Monroe air shocks, I've had decent luck with them in past. Matches the blue moog swaybar bushings also lol. 16 winters in Ohio made the bolts a real PITA to get out, 10 LBS sledge and a impact did the job though.

Today I had the day off work and decided to work on this. Started the day off by hitting the junkyard and did pretty good. Scored a rear seat, outside air temp sensor (Was reading 182 degrees), exhaust tips off a 04+ GP, and a splash shield that was MIA. Afterwards went to ACE Hardware and picked up some shims for a ZZP style shift kit, got 1", 3/4", and 1/4" ( 4 Each) for $4.66 out the door. Came home and installed the shift kit and got the splash shield on. Gave the rear seats a quick wash down, will really hit them good and install tomorrow along with the exhaust tips to get rid of the hideous set that came with it.

Spent most of the day helping my dad do a few things to his S10 and cleaned the rear seats and got them installed. Going to go to the auto parts store tomorrow and get some clamps for my tips so I can get those installed as well.

Thanks I appreciate it. It's starting to take shape now that I can get outside and work on it lol. Still on the hunt for 2 door panels and some sun visors, the headliner I might just take out and have redone since it will be next to impossible to find a good one in the JY.

It's definitely firm, I went with the hard shift kit. Last time I did the medium shift kit I felt it wasn't firm enough so I went all out this time lol. For the price it's great in my opinion, plus I also needed to change the fluid as I doubt it has been changed in 10+ years. Going to be putting a TruCool trans cooler on and adding a bottle of Lucas stop slip here shortly not that there's anything wrong I've just had good luck with it over the years.

Thanks Zuper!

I put some Lucas in my car, and it seems to love it. A shift kit, trans cooler, tune, and some stop slip go a long way with these transmissions.
