Good job on the repair, and an excellent bit of salvage/recycling. It looks pretty clean.

The lines in that eBay link will be straight (need bending), and probably consist of an assortment of typical lengths. If you don't want to mess with double flaring lines yourself, it might be a decent solution. When a couple of my lines popped, I ended up having to use a number of adapters and such because the flare and fitting combo wasn't common enough for local stores to have premade lengths. I have a feeling that it says up to 93, because fitting sizes changed, but I'm not sure on that.

It's all 3/8", which is what I have been buying.

I'm talking metric vs inch threads.

So is 3/8" - 24 = thread type?

I guess I'm confused. you can have a SAE fitting with metric threads?!

What the hell?

Those cars are really nice inside, dayum! Really cool that you are fixing this car up :) Do you think it's gonna be tough to hand the keys over to someone else after you're done?

Dang, now you have me searching my nearest U-pull's to find an LSS so I can rob the interior for my LeSabre! I hate the cloth seats, they just make it look cheap inside. The car is coming together really nice though, can't wait to see it all finished up! Great work!

I just want to drive it/see someone driving it.

And yeah, the interior is so nice.

Less then a week away before it's road legal. Unless something terrible happens during the inspection trip.

Prepared the car for the inspection, slapped some plates from something else on it, and drove it to make sure it can make the 60 mile trip to the inspection.

Put the trunk back together.

Image

Image

Got some gas.

Image

And gave it a nice bath.

Image

It drives absolutely BEAUTIFULLY. One of the nicest driving cars I've ever driven. It just floats...controllably....over everything...and the 3800 is PLENTY of power.

The only issue is I think one of the engine mounts is going. Around 2000-2500 RPM at the 1-2 shift while driving I get a vib that I can feel in the floor. It goes away instantly if you rev it up right when it starts the rattling noise/vibration.

It passed the State Inspection.

It also passed emissions check.

It lost no fluids over its 200 mile journey. (Not that I was worried, but you never know.)

Hit 134k today...This car has atleast another 100k remaining...

Image

These and the other H-bodies (Mostly Bonnevilles) from this era have got to be one of the best looking Midsize/Large Sedans from the 90s.

Image

I should have it painted by the end of next week.

So I think the fuel tank is either rusted at the top, which I doubt, or it needs a new sending unit gasket. It leaks when anywhere close to full.

Darn.

I got the new wheel bearings today. Shiny. Stock Photo because I'm lazy. lol.

Hhmmm, lazy? How about your using your time to work on the car. Time saved could be used to photo progress or finished product? - LOL - BC

Lol. I actually was pretty busy today...

Ok, its painted now. This is the same friend who helped me pull it and do the body work. Trading talent on different things is nice.

Started out with a tan adhesion promoter/primer.

Paint:

Cleared and back together:

The clear is still curing, and of course it rained on my way home, so hopefully the strippy-ness and milkyness goes away after it cures.

Image

And yeah, trunk alignment can't get any better than that. If I get it closer on the drivers side it goes wonky and closes crooked. It's pretty good considering I've never done this before.

The tiger stripes were in the clear. Once it cured, they were gone.

Now it just needs wet sanded and buffed some. The match is like half a shade off.
